To put it short: Vestas Power Solutions develops the wind power systems of the future.The Nacelle Cooling & Conditioning is a part of the Vestas Power Solutions and we have sites in both Denmark, Porto and Chennai. The department is responsible for the design and certification of the cooling systems of the wind turbine including the integrity of its supporting structure.ResponsibilitiesIn Cooling and Conditioning you will join a team responsible for the design of the Liquid Cooling, Air Cooling and Fire Suppression Systems. You will be an innovator on the development of new concepts and generating the most creative solutions to meet design opportunities and fulfill the product and technology road maps.Your main activities will include:
    • Safe working in line with HS&E policy;
    • Coordinate co-development and implement development best practices with suppliers;
    • Delivery of design work to gate reviews and to the project, matching specifications;
    • Providing robust, efficient design solution with highest performance, Quality and lowest cost across the value chain, ie:
    • Implement and coordinate the ECM process (Engineering change management)
    • Develop 3D-CAD design/models, 2D drawings and bill of materials based on design specifications
    • Define GPS/GD&T on drawings reflecting manufacturing standards
    • Ensure cost-efficient design and usage of standard parts as well as manufacturing standards
    • Embed relevant design and production knowledge into CAD by defining master models (parametrical models) and design guidelines/ checklists
    • Define and coordinate work packages to be handled by the internal team and suppliers
    • Enable delivery of work packages in time and on quality through transparent standard work flows
    • DFM/DFA
    • Standardization
    Leadership responsibilities include:
    • Support strategic work and department development: both technical and behavioral
    • Support implementation of business initiatives
    • Understand the business and do what assists Vestas best across the value chain
    • Act as role model and its natural for you to share knowledge, coordinate, guide and advise your colleagues
    Qualifications
    • Mechanical, Civil or Aeronautics degree (BSc, MSc)
    • Experience in PDMLink, Creo Parametric and Creo View;
    • Knowledge about material selection and specifications;
    • Knowledge of international engineering design and drawing standards;
    • Knowledge of the execution of feasibility studies;
    • Cooling systems design such as, Pipes and Hoses, Pumps, Fans, Clearance and fittings;
    • System Engineering knowledge such as the ability to identify impacts from/to other systems and knowledge about standards/regulations;
    • Material and processes knowledge such as aluminum, steel, sheet metal, plastics, surface protection;
    • Design process knowledge such as conducting design reviews, system interface design & stakeholder management, ensure 3D/2D CAD quality (GPS, NDT, CTQ), design acc. to norms and standards (Eurocode, European standards, DNVGL)
