Job Description

*Manage the overall development of key supply chain short- and long-term sourcing strategies, contracts and relationships for the assigned commodity in India and overseas, with alignment to global commodity objectives, to gain the optimum result for the Organization. Coordinate deployment of actions in support of the strategic initiatives working closely with the Project Management Office, Manufacturing and Quality resources. Optimize supply chain effectiveness through continuous improvement of supplier performance. Responsibilities include improving supplier delivery, quality, lead-time, payment terms and reducing inventory in order to improve customer service and total cost of ownership.

  1. Develop and implement supply chain strategies to meet manufacturing needs and business objectives.
  • Project management, Techno commercial negotiation & implementation, tracking and reporting.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of global industry activity through close working relationships with suppliers, trade organizations, and market trends.
  • Participate with other World Area Commodity Team in developing a comprehensive commodity strategy for review and approval with Senior Management. This review will include:
    • Understanding the needs and objectives of the sites/Business Unit.
    • Establishing commodity strategies to manage growth and risk within the supply chain.
    • Evaluating and selecting Emerson preferred sources / customer approved vendors.
    • Identify, coordinate, and track implementation of e-sourcing events.
    • Completing contract negotiations and quantifying benefits.
  • Negotiate and implement strategic initiatives for material sourcing and pricing strategies.
    • Identify, evaluate, select, and qualify new suppliers
    • Perform cost benefit analysis, issue resolution, risk mitigation and contingency planning
    • Approve first article evaluation
  • Manage projects through completion by coordinating technical and commercial reviews with suppliers, Quality Assurance, Project Managers, Engineering and Procurement associates as needed across the business
  1. Identify and implement cost containment/reduction opportunities.
  • Alternate sourcing, design improvements, part standardization, supplier consolidation, Lead Time Agreement, etc.,
  • Perform value analysis on total logistic cost and improve on it
  1. Manage supplier performance:
  • Develop structured process with supplier to set and monitor KPI
  • Develop supplier plans/goals that drive continuous improvement in manufacturing process, inventory and capacity planning
  • Technology development
4.Develop and benchmark best practices among suppliers, *RequirementsBachelor s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgical, Instrumentation, Electrical & Electronics) required. Expertise in Valves, Fabrication, Vessels, Actuators, Instrumentation items, Pipes, Flanges and Fittings, Solar panels, Electrical items etc.,12+ years experience in projects sourcing, supplier improvement efforts with demonstrated analytical, communication, project management and decision-making skills; operations and/or procurement experience preferred
  • Must possess project management, diversified commodities, and supplier development skills.
  • Should have strong exposure in Valves, Fabrication, Vessels, Actuators, Instrumentation items, Pipes, Flanges and Fittings, Solar panels, Electrical items etc.,
  • Able to read engineering drawings, customers technical specifications on buyouts, understand Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), quality systems requirements and customer specifications
  • Carry out duties with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to evaluate quotes / pricing.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong presentation skills and better understanding of the project buyouts management and able to offer solutions.
  • Travel 25%
  • International sourcing experience preferred. English required; Multilingual (Hindi) preferred.
  • Ability to identify areas of opportunity, develop and implement plans and solutions ensuring continuous improvement
