Job Description

Job Title: Core Networks Support EngineerLocation: ChennaiTo supply quality network operational support and analytical skills to Barclays Bussiness & Technical areas as a member of the EMEA Network Support team.What will you be doing

  • The capability to identify possible network affecting situations, faulty hardware or logical problems.
  • Assess the network, via the use of knowledge and available tools identify, and resolve faults.
  • Have the ability to assess any existing network device and review / amend as required in a controlled manner.
  • Take key decisions in respect of the impact of any fault or change on users and existing infrastructure
  • Ensuring all tasks are recorded and completed in a professional and structured manner and all company process and procedures are followed
  • Be capable of liaising with other technology, business areas and 3rd party vendors in pursuit of resolving the problem or communicating progress.
What we re looking for:Mandatory Common
  • Relevant Experience of network support within a large organization .
  • Experience with support of Cisco products
  • Working knowledge of routing and bridging protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, LACP, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of authentication protocols (TACACS, RADIUS, LDAP, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Firewall platforms (Fortigate, Palo Alto)
  • CCNP/CCIE qualified
Mandatory Either one of these 2 below
  • Working experience with support of Enterprise Wireless Infrastructure (Cisco WLC, Cisco Prime, Cisco ISE, Aruba CPPM, etc.)
  • SDN Experience (Cisco ACI)
Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Degree level education
  • Experience of working within a large multiple-site, multi-protocol LAN & WAN within a global financial institution
  • Relevant experience with support of Cisco products
  • Relevant experience with support of Enterprise Wireless Infrastructure
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise management platforms (Spectrum, SevOne)
  • Working knowledge of scripting language (Bash, Perl, Python, Expect, etc.)
