Dev Ops Engineer

Job Description

Position PurposeAs a DevOps Engineer , you will be responsible in designing, building, and demonstrating of skills on Automation, Configuration Management and Infrastructure as code. Write consistent infrastructure code using Ansible, Terraform and Cloud native automation tools to setup the infrastructure and deploy the applications on private or Public clouds. Integrate ansible with continually evolving set of DevOps tools and Apply best practices across the organization including automated testing, provisioning, deployment and service orchestration.Strong expertise in Ansible, Ansible Tower, Terraform, Jenkins, Nexus, BitBucket, RHEL (Linux) Operating system, Apache, tomcat and Cloud architecture (AWS/IBM/AZURE) is required for this position and these skills will be assessed during the technical interview. You will work closely with both Application Developers and Infrastructure teams as part of Project Delivery team.ResponsibilitiesAs a DevOps Engineer, you will have to:

• Work within a team of like-minded professionals to plan, design, and setup automation solutions for business critical applications.
• Integrate infrastructure as a code with CICD pipeline.
• Design and implement reusable configuration management and Infrastructure as code platform using ansible and Terraform.
• Write ansible roles and playbooks to configure apache, tomcat, WebSphere configuration, and other Enterprise applications and Application deployment.
• Manage Ansible tower for multiple projects and version control for ansible and terraform code repository.
• Review operational and application installation documentations and automate the manual tasks using Ansible.
• Implement Ansible Test Driven approach using Molecule.
• Automate IBM cloud resource provisioning and management using Terraform Cloud resources like VMs, VM images, network rules, load balancer, IAM, database instances, cloud resource dependencies etc.
• Provide operational support while implementing projects on IBM cloud infrastructure.
• Ensure that all the automation done is in accordance with the standards and best practices.
• Influence and train other team members in adopting the automation skills.
• Participate in the Agile DevOps culture by doing development, testing, and release of new capabilities and features with focus on release and post-deployment support

Technical & Behavioral CompetenciesQualification & Experience:

• Bachelor s Degree or equivalent qualification required
• 6+ years of overall experience working on IT operations, Linux administration, cloud automation or software development.

Mandatory

• 3+ years hands-on experience in writing ansible roles and playbooks.
• 3+ years hands-on experience on private cloud and public cloud (AWS or IBM cloud).
• 2+ years hands-on experience in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• 2+ years hands-on experience on CICD Tools Jenkins, Nexus, BitBucket or equivalent tools.
• Strong knowledge on Linux Operating system and shell scripting.
• Strong Knowledge of products like Apache HTTPD and Tomcat.
• Critical and Analytical thinker with strong problem solving aptitude.
• Hands-on experience in working on both Production and Non-Production environments
• Strong understanding of Incident, Problem, and Change management processes
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Good to have

• Certification in Cloud, Ansible, Chef and terraform.
• Shell script or python language.
• Serena Deployment Automation.
• Oracle Database, Docker container, ELK, Kafka etc.
• AIX and Windows Operating System
• Understanding of agile methodologies with focus on Scrum Framework.
• Understanding on project management and ITIL practices.

Specific Qualifications (if required)

• Bachelor s Degree or equivalent qualification
• Experience in Configuration Management tools like Ansible, chef or puppet.
• Experience in Infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, AWS Cloud Formation or Azure Resource Manager.
• Public Cloud Services - IBM, AWS, AZURE or GCP
• CICD Tools - Jenkins, Nexus, BitBucket or GitHub.
• Linux Operating system.
