Job Description

Expeditors exchanges over 35 million Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) messages each month with our customers, service providers and government agencies. EDI provides tremendous business value. Using webMethods and proprietary internal applications, the EDI Developer creates and maintains EDI based business translations that exchange electronic messages with internal and external systems. You will be part of a team that is responsible for analyzing, developing, testing, installing, and supporting this business critical information.

Qualifications

Experience : min 5 to 8 years

Essential Experience:

  • Understanding of database structures and data relationships
  • Object- oriented programming and component- based development
  • Experience with web- based, service- based, and event- based architectures
  • Experience with any industry standard EDI tools and processes
  • Fluent in English (speaking, writing and reading)
  • Bachelor or Master s degree in Computer Science or related field or related work experience

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with webMethods IS 8.2 to 9.8, Flow, messaging (Broker, UM), and Adapters
  • EDI knowledge (ANSI, EDIFACT, RosettaNet standards)
  • Experience with SQL, HTTP(S), FTP/AS2
  • Understanding of the transportation and/or logistics industry
  • Minimum 5- 8 years progressive experience in a software development role
