Job Description

TITLE CHANGE:ENGINEER - .NET DEVELOPSLOCATION: GTC, CHENNAIGCL: C2ROLE: - What is expected out of the candidate to performAs a .NET Developer is key role involved in design, development, coding, customization, configuration, testing, and deployment in support of enterprise packaged solutions.The .NET Developer will implement .Net applications comprising Microsoft Technologies such as ASP.Net, MVC, WPF, WCF and relative client scripting languages. Should be capable of handling many aspects of the .Net applications (performance, scalability, security, and testing) and work alongside multiple development teams to oversee design and development in a variety of projects.Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the application systems in operation, including tasks related to identifying and troubleshooting application issues and issues resolution or escalation. Responsibilities also include root cause analysis, management communication and client relationship management in partnership with Infrastructure Service Support team members.Ensures all production changes are made in accordance with life-cycle methodology and risk guidelines. Responsible for coaching and mentoring less experienced team members and or acting as a subject matter expert. In depth Functional knowledge of the application(s) supported and interdependencies. This position should typically be used for an advanced or lead level resource.Strong problem-solving skills with good communication skills, ability to work under pressure with a high sense of urgency. Looking for someone who is proactive, self-driven and able to identify improvements as part of the BAU work to address recurring issues, close monitoring gaps, and automate/reduce manual work.

  • Gather business requirements and develop related software applications and programs.
  • Research and evaluate software related technologies and products.
  • Implement the design by senior developers and testing various software components.
  • Develop and write high quality coding that meets customer requirements.
  • Create software documentation and update existing documentation.
  • Provide production support for incidents and problems coming through ticketing system
  • Be alert on production application stacks and keep monitoring them for any anomaly to ensure high availability of the services
  • Implement best practices, standards and procedures including quality and delivery methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with the documented software processes and procedures throughout the life cycle of software products.
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues Motivation to meet tight deadlines and to perform individually whilst working as part of global team.
  • Ability to clearly articulate and demonstrate value proposition to customers through consulting services engagements.
  • Ensure that applications are monitored and consistently deliver high level of availability and performance.
  • Pro-actively identify and report improvements to services within the business capability application portfolio.
MANDATORY SKILLS: What are skills / technology candidate needs to have, to perform the role
  • Technical Degree
  • 3 to 5 years of IT experience in Application Development/Production Support of .Net Technologies
  • Hands on working experience of Model View Controller (MVC) 4.0 or greater
  • Web application development experience working with ASP.NET Web Forms, MVC, WebAPI or WPF, HTML5, jQuery, and CSS3
  • Development experience with Web Services, specifically WCF, Web API and ASMX
  • Experience and profound knowledge on AD tools Visual Studio 2008 to 2017, Toad, MS SQL Management Studio,PL/SQL, Jenkins, JIRA, Bitbuket, GIT, TFS, etc.
  • SQL proficient can handle: complex, nested, and, recursive queries, and understands the terminology
  • Experience in handling High Priority Outage Bridge meetings
  • Should be capable of understanding the business priorities and rapidly act in the production support Environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in handling SaaS tools preferably CVENT
  • Accountable for Quality of Estimation and Coding coming out of the GTC Enabling Units IT teams
  • Accountable for managing incremental, lifecycle or improvement driven changes e.g. re-platforming, up-versioning, migration to externally hosted solutions
  • Knows Languages PowerShell, C#, ASP.net MVC, and scripting
DESIERED SKILLS: What are good to have skills / certifications / technology / domain experience
  • Familiarity with ITIL Support Framework
  • Familiarity with L2 & L3 Support
  • Familiarity with the ASP.NET framework, SQL Server ,PL/SQL
  • Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, RPC)
  • Familiarity in SDLC methodologies (Classic, Agile methodologies, etc.)
  • Designing and implementing n-tier solutions
  • Ensures following IT Service Delivery Framework and Adaptive Delivery Framework is adhered on AD activities.
  • Responsible for completing the Application Life Cycle plans for individual applications, which incorporate all attributes of the technology stack, to the required level of detail.
  • Has primary responsibility for maintaining and updating all documentation associated to the Application Development throughout its lifecycle.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, meets deadlines, and work independently.
