Job Description

**Role Overview:**As an experienced engineer, you will be responsible for providing oversight and expert technical guidance on moderate to highly complex engineering designs involving piping system hydraulics and pump system hydraulics. This includes tasks such as hydraulic modeling, calculations, equipment vendor coordination, development of detailed design drawings and specifications, and construction submittal reviews. Your expertise in detailed mechanical equipment design for water and wastewater treatment plants, conveyance systems, medium/large pumps & pump station design, specialized pump selections, and design and implementation of rotating equipment and process treatment equipment will be crucial.**Key Responsibilities:**- Detailed mechanical equipment design including Screen, Air Blower, Compressors, Decanter, and Belt Press for water and wastewater treatment plants and conveyance systems- Design of medium/large Pumps & Pump station, including medium/large diameter pipeline- Specialization in pump selections and developing mechanical specifications- Design and implementation of rotating equipment and process treatment equipment- Familiarity with transient analysis and design- Knowledge of pipe stress analysis and pipe support design and drawings- Experience using AFT Fathom or equivalent software for pumping network- Ability to generate and understand P&IDs- Familiarity with energy auditing principles and experience with energy modeling Software**Qualifications Required:**- ME or BE in Mechanical Engineering with 10 to 12 years of Experience (Preferred)- Excellent written and oral communication skills- Independent player with high self-motivation- Experience in International Projects will be an added advantage- Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Chartered Engineering (CEng) License (Preferred)In addition to the above, CDM Smith Inc. and its divisions and subsidiaries reserve the right to require background checks including criminal, employment, education, licensure, etc., as well as credit and motor vehicle checks when applicable for certain positions.
