Job Description

• The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development, and establish and implement new or revised applications systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areas
• Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users
• Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement
• Recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality
• Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems
• Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
• Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firms reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

• Qualifications:7/10+ years hands on experience Experience in supporting Multi-tier applications Excellent analytic & problem solving skills Experience in different RDBMS-es with focus on Design, maintenance and support of medium to large enterprise/distributed databases Excellent knowledge in troubleshooting, performance tuning and best practices Familiar with all phases of the systems lifecycle, from analysis, design and development and deployment. Experience in end-to-end set up of mission critical applications Knowledge of the FX/MM/FI market and products is very desirable. Strong SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL programming skills Good Knowledge of RDBMS such as Sybase (ASE 15.x)/Oracle (10g and higher)/MSSQL (2008 & higher) Good understanding of platform support procedures and concepts Ability to guide the juniorsExperience in Design, Development and support of databases of medium to large scale enterprise/distributed applications Sound knowledge and hands on experience of Perfomance tuning and trouble shooting of production database systems. Experience in analysing production issues from technical (database) and functional (application process) point of view and fixing them within defined SLAs. Experience in application data migration, porting and version upgrades across different RDBMS using tools such as bcp, SQL *Loader, etc., Experience in different RDBMS version upgrades by working with development and datacenter teams Experience in understanding and implementing policies and defined data security standards both from technical (RDBMS database) and organizational point of view For applications running on Oracle RDBMS platform, Good understanding of Explain plan, Execution Plans and experience in Analysing TKPROF output and analysing AWR / ASH report For applications running on Sybase RDBMS platform, experience in troubleshooting using/analysing sp_sysmon, MDA, DBCC, SHOWPLAN, Query plans, etc., For applications running on MSSQL platform, good understanding of troubleshooting tools and utilities such as PerfMon, Profiler, DMVs, system procedures, DBCC etc.,
