The Senior Consultant role will be based in Chennai.This role is initiated to support Data Management Group specifically with Hadoop and Teradata skills.We are looking for someone who demonstrates:Intense collaborationPassionate customer focusThoughtful, fast, disciplined executionTenacious commitment to continuous improvementRelentless drive to winHere is a glimpse of what you will do:Hands on Hadoop and Teradata development activities and implementationLoading data from disparate data sets (relational, structured, unstructured, flat files, etc.)Data engineering activities using Hive, Pig, SPARK, Tez, HBase, Teradata SQL and Teradata proceduresData modeling, Designing, building and supporting Hadoop/Teradata jobsTranslate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed designPerform analysis of vast data stores and uncover insightsMaintain security and data privacy in Hadoop/TeradataHigh-speed querying of data in HadoopPerform POC for new Hadoop componentsPropose and follow best practices/standardsWork as an individual contributor or lead a small technical team depending on you experience and interest.Here is some of what you will need (required)Minimum 6 - 8 years of experience with deep and hands on Knowledge in Hadoop and Teradata Ecosystems with an overall experience of 6+ yearsProficient in architecting, modeling & design experience in Data Warehouse spaceGood knowledge of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.Hands on expertise in programming (Java or Python or Unix script)Good hands on experience with writing high-performance, reliable and maintainable codeShould have written Spark scripts, Hive Scripts, MapReduce jobsShould have handled Teradata SQL, Procedures, Macros, FLOAD, MLOAD, BTEQ scriptsDeep understanding of Open source ecosystem and harvesting OSS codeIf you are an OSS committer, that is a major plusExpertise in any NoSQL is a plusKnowledge of data loading tools like SqoopKnowledge of Spark is a plusGood written and verbal communication skills and should be a good team player,
