Job Description

    Role:- HW Test Engineer / Lab Engineer (Linux Physical Servers Only)Overview:We are looking for a hands-on Hardware Test Engineer with strong experience in Linux system administration on physical (bare-metal) servers in a lab environment. This role requires someone who has worked on system-level server testing, not on internal hardware development like chip or board-level design. Automation experience using Python and Ansible is highly preferred.Key Responsibilities: Triage and manage test requests for physical servers in the lab. Deploy and configure Linux OS images on bare-metal systems. Maintain and upgrade firmware on server components such as SSDs and NICs. Set up server racks, test benches, and manage lab hardware resources. Troubleshoot and recover unresponsive systems; perform root cause analysis. Analyze logs and failure data; summarize for test/firmware development teams. Perform functional, stability, power, and stress testing of complete server systems. Collect, process, and report test results; support issue replication and isolation. Develop automation tools and scripts using Python and Ansible. Support validation of new hardware platforms in pre-production environments.Required Skills & Experience: Bachelors degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related discipline. 3 years of experience working with Linux on physical servers in a lab/test setup. Strong Linux administration skills: OS deployment, troubleshooting, updates. Hands-on experience with server hardware setup, cabling, and test rack management. Familiar with tools for stress testing CPU, memory, storage, and I/O subsystems. Proficient in scripting and test automation with Python and Ansible. Experience with BMC (e.g., IPMI/Redfish) and system-level firmware updates. Strong documentation and communication abilities.Important Note:We are not looking for candidates with experience limited to internal hardware development (e.g., chip design, PCB-level work, ASIC, FPGA). This role is focused on system-level hardware testing and automation in a lab environment.Nice to Have: Experience with PCIe electrical and SI testing. Familiarity with signal integrity tools, scopes, or test fixtures.
