Our startup spirit within a stable enterprise environment enables us to deliver secure, scalable, and modern platforms powered by Agile and DevSecOps practices.About the Project.Be part of a strategic initiative to build DHLs AI Gateway Platform, where Google Apigee X acts as the central control layer enabling secure and governed access to AI services powered by Model Context Protocol (MCP).This platform provides:A single entry point for applications and clients to consume AI servicesSecure integration with MCP servers responsible for AI orchestrationCentralized security, governance, and traffic management via ApigeeIn this role, you will not only build and operate the gateway layer, but also work closely with business units to translate AI use cases into scalable and secure API solutions.#DHL #DHLITServices #GreatPlace #digitalplatforms #AI #Apigee #MCP #APIPlatformGrow together.Your role as API Gateway Engineer - AI Platform:Design, develop, and maintain Apigee API proxies exposing MCP-based servicesConfigure and manage the AI gateway layer, enabling secure connectivity between applications and MCP serversImplement and enforce API security policies, guiderails, including OAuth2, JWT, threat protection, and traffic managementDefine and apply API governance standards for AI service exposure and lifecycle managementCollaborate with backend teams to ensure proper integration between Apigee gateway, CI/CD, cloud and On-Prem backend infrastructureAct as a technical consultant to business units (BUs) by:Understanding their AI use cases and integration needsTranslating requirements into API and MCP design patternsAdvising on best practices for secure and scalable AI consumptionPerform a light business analyst role, including:Clarifying functional and integration requirementsIdentifying reusable patterns vs custom implementationsEnsuring alignment with platform capabilities and standardsSupport onboarding of applications and clients consuming AI services via the gatewayTroubleshoot and resolve issues related to API access, performance, and security enforcementContribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation for API proxy deploymentEnsure observability through logging, monitoring, and analytics within the API gatewayPromote best practices in API design, reuse, and standardizationReady to embark on the journey Heres what we are looking for:5 years of experience in API development, API management, or platform engineeringStrong hands-on experience with Apigee (preferably Apigee X), including API proxy development and policy configurationExperience implementing API security mechanisms, including OAuth2, JWT, and access control patternsSolid understanding of API gateway architecture, traffic management, and governance modelsExperience with API- first design and RESTful servicesAbility to engage with stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical solutionsFamiliarity with cloud environments and distributed systemsExperience working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsGood communication skills to work with both technical teams and business stakeholdersNice to have:Understanding of MCP and AI/LLM integration patternsExperience with AI security controls and tools such as Model ArmorFamiliarity with microservices architecture and high-scale API platformsKnowledge of observability, monitoring, and API analytics toolsExperience supporting enterprise API platforms with high traffic volumesExposure to developer portals and API productizationAn array of benefits for you:Hybrid work arrangements to balance in-office collaboration and home flexibility.Annual Leave: 42 days off apart from Public / National Holidays.Medical Insurance: Self Spouse 2 children.
