Job Description

Section 2: Responsibilities, Supporting Actions & End - Results

Major Responsibility: APAC Data Strategic Roadmap & Data Architecture

Supporting Actions: Understand the existing Global Data Warehouse team s capabilities, data structure set up, and offerings, while consulting other regions existing data warehouse strategies. Define the data stack strategy that works for APAC business models and execute solid data architecture that will serve both APAC software products and regional analytics and reporting needs. The data stacks should be sustainable and scalable, to satisfy both internal function (short term) and external customer (long term) analysis. Evaluate the right steps and execute APAC DSS (regional data warehouse) migration to a sustainable data warehouse,while optimization speed and performance. Lay out a right database and server design for APAC software products.

End Results: Lay out a 3 - year regional data roadmap that will meet both short - term and long - term goals of data maturity modeljourney for APAC. Execute the right data stacks and pipeline infrastructure that can enable APAC countries to establish one single source of truth.

Percentage: 45%

Major Responsibility: Data Governance and Management

Supporting Actions: Identify critical data sets (standards, quality, and processes), and establish a framework around to support completeness and accuracy. Leverage the global data management framework to ensure and drive right metadata management in placed for APAC, and hierarchy of MDM. Identify patterns and trends in data sets. Define data collection and analysis processes. Createbuild data ingestion for APAC analytical needs and performance optimization.

End Results: Leverage the global data warehouse team for tools used in storage, ingestion (ETLELT), master data management, and data cleansing. Establish APAC data governance framework, for data completeness, data interpretation

Percentage: 40%

Major Responsibility: Team Build - Up & Self - Served Data Culture

Supporting Actions: The leader will recruit and build up a 4 - person team in Chennai India (1 data architect, 1 data engineer, and 2 data analysts), while managing outcome of 1 existing associate in SAP BO reporting. Drive self - served reporting culture, by identify end - user training needs, ingesting common data sets, and conducting employee training in front - end reporting tools.

End Results: Build - up a 5 - people APAC data delivery team. Equip APAC employees with regular trainings, self - served BI tools, and solid back - end data warehouse.

Percentage: 15%

Section 3: Job Qualifications and Educational Requirement

  • BS in computer science, data science, mathematics, statistics, or related field, with 10+ years of experience in data pipeline architecture, 5+ years in data management and data modelingoptimization, 3+ years in people management, and 2+ years in stakeholder management.
  • Proven leadership and experience in building up end - to - end data stacks, including data warehouse, data ingestion, data cleaning & transformation, master data management, and data interpretation.
  • Experience in serving as a data architect for software products, and guidingadvising software teams on database design
  • Experience in creating and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture, and optimizing data delivery across APAC
  • Advanced pipeline infrastructure skills, such as ETLELT. Advanced data related skills,including SQL and relational database.
  • Seasoned experience in matrixed management organizations with proven ability to manage and drive implementation and change
  • Ability to interpret business requirements into data sources, data definition, and data usage & purpose
  • Ability to navigate a matrixed environment to drive APAC requirements and execute
  • Ability to recruit, retain, and develop talent
  • Ability to manage budget and resource allocation
  • Strong leadership, solid communication skills, and analytically minded
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Agile certified would be a plus
