The role requires strong expertise in material science, heat transfer, and advanced manufacturing techniques. The ideal candidate will lead Body-in-White, chassis, and suspension material selection while ensuring performance, durability, and efficiency.The individual will guide early design discussions, support vehicle system development, and lead critical investigations through failure/root cause analysis. A strong ability to collaborate with internal teams, testing agencies, and suppliers is essential.Key Responsibilities
    • Lead material technology initiatives and mentor a team of metallurgical engineers
    • Finalize materials for BIW, chassis, suspension, and structural components
    • Conduct failure analysis, durability studies & material behaviour evaluation
    • Build and maintain material property databases for reference and development
    • Revise material standards to meet global and industry benchmarks
    • Collaborate with design, R&D, and testing teams during development cycles
    • Engage with external labs/testing agencies for certifications & validations
    • Identify and drive cost optimization, new material integration & innovation
    Required Skills & Competencies
    • Strong knowledge of Material Technology & Heat Transfer
    • Experience in metal material selection, processing & vehicle component manufacturing
    • Expertise in failure analysis, design support & specification development
    • Ability to integrate new materials for performance & cost advantages
