Job Description

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

  • Should be able to do finite element modelling of Engine and transmission components and Systems.
  • Understanding and adherence to element and part quality check sheets.
  • Should be able to assign material properties, connections, joints and contacts in Abaqus
  • Should be able to apply loads and Boundary conditions required for linear and nonlinear Static analysis.
  • Should be able to carry out Modal and frequency response analysis for components and systems.
  • Should have done analysis for engine 5Cs(Cylinder head, Crankcase, Crankshaft, Connecting rod and Camshaft) and transmission housings for nonlinear static strength and fatigue analysis
  • Should have do understand and analyse of Cranktrain and Valve train dynamics
  • Ability to postprocess results and make reports.
  • Good knowledge of Engine and transmission components and systems
  • Good fundamentals - Strength of materials and Applied mechanics
  • Should know different tests for Powertrain and driveline system and recommend design modifications to meet acceptance criteria based on analysis results.
Experience5-8 Years in CAE Powertrain DomainIndustry PreferredQualificationsB.E Mechanical (Min First class) M.Tech/M.E - Machine Design (Preferred from IIT or other good institute)General RequirementsSoftware Skills:
  • Meshing - Hypermesh, Simlab
  • Solvers - Nastran, Abaqus
  • Post processing - Hyperview
  • AVL Excite and Timing drive
  • FEMFAT
