To meet current and upcoming vehicle safety regulations and NCAP in India, Europe, Australia and North America relative to vehicle structure, Adult and child occupant protection, Pedestrian safety and Active Safety for current and new M&M products with a specific focus on:Executing overall vehicle safety performance. (Frontal, Side, Pedestrian, Child safety and Active safety etc) Preparing Statement of Requirements (SoR) for vehicle safety system for a vehicle project for passive and active safety. Creating and maintaining vehicle safety systems development plan for target markets and for targe safety performance. Guiding the vehicle design team & provide guidelines & DVPs to meet the vehicle passive and active safety targets. Providing objective based direction to the vehicle safety, simulation, design & testing teams in the project. Interacting with passive and active safety system related vendors and test organizations to ensure the vehicle meet the set safety targets for passive and active safety. Addressing possible conflicts and offering trade-offs between various vehicle sub-systems to achieve optimum test performance for passive and active safety. Creating crash test plan & vehicle and sled test matrix for a project. Single point contact for all vehicle passive and active safety topics in all system team meetings.Experience6+ years experience in the automotive industry with the domain experience in Vehicle Crashworthiness with respect to working on the existing products and developing new products for passive and active safety. High voltage e-Vehicles safety performance management In-depth Accident investigations.Ability to handle Cross functional team of other system engineers(BiW, Chassis, Trims, Seats, Electrical and Electronics etc) Inter personal Skills Out of Box Thinking Excellent Communication skills Exposure of working in Cross Functional Teams. Conflict Resolution.Technical: Passive Safety: Hands on experience on designing vehicles that meet Crashworthiness (Frontal, Side, Pedestrian, Rear etc) for regualtions and consumer tests for India and Europe with deep understanding of Vehicle Crashworthienss fundamentals. Experiance in developing and setting up target for vehicle Safety system performance for agreegate systems e.g Body, Chassis, Trims, Seats & other aggregates. Experiance in Restraint System Integration (Airbags, Seat belts), impact sensors and airbag ECU. Experinece in optimisation of Restraint systems in achieving safety performance targets Global NCAP, EuroNCAP, US NCAP, IIHS etc. Airbag ECU calibration and trade offs. Knowledge of crash & occupant simulation, vehicle and component level testing, data analysis & test result interpretation. Ability to identify root cause and propose multiple options to meet the target safety performance. Ability to create Safety Upfront design guidelines Experience in 1-2 complete vehicle crashworthyness development projects and occupant restraints projects for vehicle safety performance and Passive safety peformance management. Good understanding of material properties related to Steel, Plastics & foams. Basic awareness of CAD & Team center release process. Basic awareness of Barrier / Sled testing. Passive safety system integration including Restraint systems, Impact Sensors and airabg ECU. Active Safety: Active safety system integration including RADAR, Sensors, CAMERA. Hands on experience on designing vehicles that meets active safety requirements EuroNCAP with deep understanding of challenges and limitation in designing and compliance of active safety system and their compliance. Active safety peformance management. e-vehicle Passive safety: Hands of experience on e-Vehicles safety performance management.
