Job Description

  • PerkinElmer s OneSource Laboratory Services, offers a number of Scientific and Laboratory IT Services to help labs optimize their scientific productivity with effective use of information technology.
  • These service solutions combine scientific and technical expertise with defined project management and information technology process methodologies, to create predictable and measurable information technology outcomes regardless of instrument technology or manufacturer
  • Life science laboratories require advanced informatics solutions in order to operate effectively and
  • efficiently.
  • This role would be responsible for supporting researchers in the expert use of these systems.
  • The right candidate would have laboratory experience and a background in supporting scientific applications, especially electronic lab automation platforms (ELA).
  • This position requires knowledge of Windows applications and ELA in order to diagnose issues and manage the application, but does not require day-to-day management (OS provisioning, OS patching, etc.)
Responsibilities:
  • Provide Level 1-2 support for scientific applications, including ELA platform
  • Gather requirements from users for enhancements or patches
  • Manage existing templates and configuration
  • Install and configure application and method enhancements
  • Manage application user lifecycle management, including system design, technical design
  • Perform system and unit testing
  • Work with software vendors for application troubleshooting
  • Create methods for Customer review and approval
  • Change Requests
  • Coordinate with other support teams within the organization
  • Document creation and updates for Customer review and approval
  • Some off-hours support may be required to install application upgrades or monitor/verify OS patches or upgrades
Job Requirements:
  • Experience with ELA required
  • Experience with Labvantage SQL LIMS, LimsLink Pro, Nexxis iLab required
  • Experience with scientific applications desired
  • Bachelor s or Master s Degree in Life Science or Technical field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience tracking projects and creating reports
  • Good requirements analysis & documentation experience
  • Problem solving and analytical capabilities; ability to deal with and resolve conflicts
  • Previous in-lab experience desired
