Job Description

    Key Responsibilities
    • Plan, schedule, and execute preventive maintenance and corrective (breakdown) maintenance for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems.
    • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control / PLC / instrumentation faults to minimize downtime.
    • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring failures, and propose corrective and improvement actions.
    • Oversee the installation, commissioning, modification, and calibration of new machines and equipment.
    • Maintain spare parts inventory, forecast requirements, and coordinate with procurement.
    • Develop and maintain maintenance procedures, standards, checklists, maintenance logs, and machine history records.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for maintenance: MTBF, MTTR, downtime, maintenance cost, etc.
    • Interact with production, quality, and operations teams to plan maintenance windows so as to minimize impact.
    • Prepare maintenance budgets, estimate costs, and control expenditures.
    • Supervise or coordinate with maintenance technicians, contractors, and external service providers.
    • Ensure compliance with safety standards, lockouttagout (LOTO) procedures, and environmental / HSE policies.
    • Provide training and guidance to maintenance staff.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (kaizen, 5S, lean maintenance) and reliability enhancement programs.
    Qualifications and SkillsEducation & Experience
    • Bachelors degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics / Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
    • 3 to 8 years (or as appropriate) of experience in maintenance roles in a manufacturing / machining environment.
    • Hands-on experience with CNC machines (HMC, VMC, vertical turning), automated welding, special purpose machines, etc.
    • Experience with PLCs, instrumentation, pneumatic / hydraulic systems.
    • Experience in producing preventive maintenance schedules, CMMS systems, and maintenance documentation.
    Technical Skills
    • Strong troubleshooting capabilities across mechanical, electrical, and automation domains.
    • Knowledge of reliability engineering / failure mode effects analysis (FMEA) is a plus.
    • Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams.
    • Familiarity with CMMS or maintenance software.
    • Basic knowledge of process control, instrumentation, and sensors.
    • Ability to use data, metrics, and analytics to drive maintenance decision making.
    Soft Skills
    • Strong communication and coordination skills to work with crossfunctional teams.
    • Leadership skills to supervise technicians and contractors.
    • Good planning, prioritization, and time management skills.
    • Problem-solving mindset, continuous improvement orientation.
    • Commitment to safety, rules, and compliance.
    Reporting & Work Conditions
    • The Maintenance Engineer will report to the Maintenance Manager / Plant Engineering Head.
    • Work shifts may include overtime, weekend or night maintenance depending on production needs.
    • The role involves walking the shop floor, getting hands-on with equipment, climbing ladders, and working in industrial environments.
    • Travel across different production units/facilities may occasionally be required.
