Job Description

    The Product Development Incharge is responsible for design and development of parts, components and products, for the projects / programs handled. Design integration and application of new technology is critical to the role holder. The role holder is responsible for coordinating and directing team efforts to ensure efficient engineering design as per defined scope and targets in projects / programs that meet manufacturing requirements with strong adherence to APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process and product development timelines.1. Responsible for ensuring delivery of projects adhering project timelines, quality and cost targets2. Design and develop parts / components as per project plan and provide technical support in product development3. Review and monitor project milestones and conduct technical reviews for projects in adherence to APQP process4. Collaborate for testing, validation and proto manufacturing to ensure project deliverables as per timelines5. Provide technical inputs and support on design and development concepts for procurement and other development processes6. Responsible for supervising product design and development work- Graduate / Post Graduate in Engineering- Experience of 10 to 12 years in parts / components design and development- Exposure to auto component industry and Product Development processes is preferred- Should possess expert knowledge of design software- Should possess knowledge of parts / components / products, as applicable (for example, fasteners, pumps)- Should possess basic knowledge of proto manufacturing and product build processes
