Job Description

manager - security in chennaiReports to: Director, Global SecurityJob Location: ChennaiBasic Job Functions:As part of the worldwide security organization, develop, improve and implement site security initiatives to meet objectives in line with the Company s core values and behaviors.Experience:Min 5 years of experience in a senior supervisory or management position in an industrial organization in the security or loss prevention department.Service experience as a senior officer in the armed forces or the police force will be an advantage.Education:

  • Possess a diploma or degree in a relevant discipline.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Personnel security - protection initiatives & travel security studies as required
  • Plan, organizes and execute security loss prevention programs for the KLM site
  • Work across site organizations developing partners to assist and support security initiatives and objectives - Particularly; HR, EHS, Facilities, IT/MIS, Legal, Supply Chain, & Operations
  • Responsible to effectively manage the security team
  • Manage outsourced security programs including security officer and security system integrators
  • Enhance, maintain and upgrade the security systems (electronic access control, intrusion detection and CCTV as an integrated platform) to reduce risk
  • Initiates security awareness programs in communicating security s importance as well as protecting people, buildings, assets and information
  • Conducts security studies including risk assessments and audits providing recommendations and follow through assisting in the remedy and closure of findings
  • Writes and implements site security policy and procedures
  • Investigations as required in the areas of criminal activity, theft, personnel and financial.
  • Responsible for maintaining law enforcement and other government relationships
  • Travel as assigned which can be on quick notice
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Skills:Behavioral:
  • Strength in leadership and interpersonal and communication both written and oral
  • Self-Directed Leader with solid Problem Solving and Decision Making skills
Technical:
  • Working knowledge in Project management and Security systems (Access control, Intrusion system CCTV systems and control center operations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & Power Point
  • Awareness and knowledge in applying supply chain security initiatives including the US Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT)
