Job Summary:Supplier Quality Engineer Manager is a key leadership position reporting to Supplier Quality Manager and is responsible for all aspects of Supplier Quality for incoming material to Trimble Navigation. Supplier Quality Engineer Manager is to work closely with the Trimble team and suppliers to ensure compliance of Trimbles Specifications and progression of the SQE organization. Candidate Requirements: The successful candidate must have 12- 15 years of experience in a multinational company, minimum of 10 years in managing all aspects of Supplier Quality Engineering.Candidate must have minimum five experience as a Working Manager , working closely with regional SQE and suppliers in providing guidance (mentoring) and in- put on managing supplierstransition of programs from NPI to volume production. Able to conduct on- site audits to address urgent quality issues and assess suppliers Quality systems. Along with providing leadership on driving DOE, Corrective Actions and Continuous Process Improvements. In depth understanding of the new product development (NPI) process and ability to assist the development teams during production release, Design of Experiments (DoE), PFMEA and Process Control Plan confirmation. Hands on experience in Measurement System Analysis (MSA) including Gage RR and selection of appropriate measurement technique / instruments.Candidate must be a key contributor to Design for Manufacturability (DFM) discussions with supplier and Trimble engineering team. Representing supplier process capabilities, manufacturing technologies, Trimble Design intent and integrity. Experience in manufacturing of mechanical component / assembly and machine technologies. Technical Background in Design and Process Manufacturing related but not limited to Die Casting Plastics (Injection Molding, Vacuum Forming, 3D printing), Packaging and Electro- Mechanical components.Knowledgeable in NADCAP, ASTM, IPC Standards as required per component.Competent in the use and implementation of Root Cause / Corrective Action using 8D approach, Lean Manufacturing, 5 whys, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PFEMA, Kaizen, Poka- Yoke mfg. processes for identified problem. Excellent Communication (verbal and written) and Leadership skills to provide guidance to supplier and GCM / SQE team as required.Ability to interact successfully with all levels of suppliers organization, from Sr. Management to direct labor personnel at factory both domestic and foreign Ability to publish and present executive summaries to communicate audit results, project status/ updates and risks to keep leadership, team members informed of situations next steps.Education / Experience:Bachelor of Science in Industrial or Mechanical / Electrical EngineeringExperience and knowledge of industry standards for Casting / Machining, Geometric Tolerancing and Dimensioning 10+ years of experience Supply Chain and Supplier Quality Engineering.ISO Certified Auditor and compliant to most recent version of ISO (Maturity Model)Experience in using inspection tooling and gages to conduct on- site First Article validation testing. Other Requirements:Travel to supplier locations to resolve quality problems (approx. 20% mostly in Asia with occasional trip to USA) on an urgent basis. Minimum 5 yearsexperience in the technical and personnel management of supplier and SQE organization. Experience with Product Development Methodology (PDM) with supplier for volume readiness.
