Job Description

Manager for supporting Supply Chain Applications Reports to OSM (Operations IT)The main responsibilities of the role are to:

  • Ensure optimum performance and stability for multiple systems for the Supply Chain Systems capability for AstraZeneca Operations, including providing workarounds and identifying areas for improvement or solutions to permanently address the issue
  • Handle 2nd/ 3rd line support (technical queries, bug fixes and small enhancements relating to application and platform), complying with Astra Zeneca standards, change control procedures
  • Take ownership of issues through from delivery or issue resolution or escalation, as appropriate
  • Support development activities by helping in code build and deployment, tool configuration management and administration, application environment set up, change and release management
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to multiple systems and support multiple business groups
  • Develop specialist knowledge in relevant systems, documenting and sharing that knowledge, as required, with global teams
  • Liaise with multiple stake holders including users, infrastructure/middleware teams, 3rd party software vendors for resolving issues and potential process improvements
  • Responsible for recommending continuous improvement solutions to the OSM
  • Ensures that the IT Service Delivery Framework is adhered to by support
  • Ensures that the application operates within and complies with any regulatory, financial or internal AstraZeneca standards (GxP, SOx).
  • Has supporting responsibility for the DR testing and co-ordinating associated activities across the eco system.
  • Responsible for completing the Application Life Cycle plans for individual applications, which incorporate all attributes of the technology stack, to the required level of detail.
  • Has primary responsibility for maintaining and updating all documentation associated to the service throughout its lifecycle.
  • Ability to guide and mentor team members.
  • Supports the OSM in reviewing the performance of the applications within the capability
Essential Experience: (Must have skills)
  • 8-10 years of prior experience in application support and strong team management skills
  • Experience in handling Supply chain domain applications (Non-SAP)
  • Basic understanding of Software as service or Platform as service solution
  • Understanding of incident, problem, change and release management process
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to multiple systems and support multiple business groups
Supplementary Experience: (Useful additional skills)
  • Familiarity with life sciences (Pharma) domain concepts, workflow and terminology
  • Experience on Windows/UNIX application environment and understanding of client-server / distributed computing concepts
  • Experience in setting up and managing application environments
  • Mindset to support business critical applications
Educational QualificationsUG - B.Tech /B.E. or other equivalent technical qualificationsPersonal Attributes:
