The role requires gathering, interpreting, and using information from multiple sources to aid the team in identifying and managing the risk associated with Credit Underwriting. Expectations of the role include skills like attention to details and accuracy of records, strategic operational & administrative efficiency, congenial people interaction and effective time management skills. The analyst will be handling the day-to-day requirements related to risk processes, i.e., risk identification, risk assessment, risk and control evaluation, management and resolution of issues and incidents. Annual Risk and Compliance Plan ( ARCP ) output, and risk reporting for products, functions, and jurisdictions (as applicable). This role is also responsible interfacing with the Second Line of Defense to understand and apply risk frameworks and protocols.
• Establish Risk Assessment objectives in line with PayPal Risk Management framework and its policies
• Identify and document risks, systems, processes, and controls using narratives, flow charts, data flow diagrams, etc.
• Understand regulatory guidelines and their applicability and impact to PayPal and its credit underwriting activities.
• Maintain strong understanding of key risk management principles and PayPal products and services within area of responsibility.
• Represent business line in first line risk forums.
• Maintain a current Control inventory for GCSC to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Provide support in the areas of Internal and External Audits and Testing Engagements (e.g., Second Line of Defense reviews, Internal Audits, Regulatory Examinations)
• Collaborate with Issues Management and the Testing and Monitoring team to evaluate established controls, identify deficiencies and recommend enhancements.
• Understand and effectively communicate the downstream impact of control deficiencies to appropriate stakeholders
• Collaborate with control owners to implement enhancements and track to completion.
Job requirements
• Bachelor s degree or equivalent.
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Three years of Audit, Risk, Compliance, Regulatory, banking, or similar experience.
• Experience in control and/or process design - identification, documentation and tracking of risks, controls, and/or compliance obligations, preferably in the financial industry. This includes supporting - execution of risk response plans, including the development, prioritization, and communication of - driving adherence to risk and compliance policies and procedures. Also, monitoring key risks and identifying emerging risks; and
• Ability to navigate within a three lines of defense model to address risk matters.
• Excels in fast paced and evolving environment.
• Extremely detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as experienced in handling multiple projects simultaneously using effective time management skills.
• Ability to work with large volumes of information via multiple sources and extract relevant details for the respective objective.
• Looks for new and creative ways to solve problems or improve processes.
• Understands GCSC business processes, including the applicability of key laws and regulations.
• Ability to assume ownership of assigned tasks and deliver a quality product within the agreed framework including the hours allocated.
• Able to demonstrate thorough experience with a proactive approach or initiative in making the required efforts to meet an agreed timeline or job requirement.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate questions, provide management with relevant information and respond to any questions they may have. Demonstration of knowledge courage; able to take a position and influence management.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues and peers. Ability to demonstrate collaboration and partnership and actively promote teamwork.
• Strong analysis skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of job.
