Job Description

The Ops Accounting Analyst 2 is a developing professional role. Applies specialty area knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing and/or evaluating processes and data.Role requires a good knowledge of the range of processes, procedures, and systems to be used in carrying out assigned tasks and a basic understanding of the underlying concepts and principles upon which the job is based. Good understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area. Makes evaluative judgements based on the analysis of information. They are expected to resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and will be guided by precedents. Must be able to exchange information in a concise and logical way as well as be sensitive to audience diversityResponsibilities: Work with seniors as appropriate on data related for Internal and external Auditors and ensure timely and accurate submission of all deliverables and ensure that all comments are addressed, observations are reported correctly, and corrective action is taken accordingly. Initiate process changes in line with new emerging risks and regulatory requirements. Strong organization skills with proven ability to successfully manage multiple priorities. Detail oriented with strong problem solving and analytical skills. Excellent relationship management skills with ability to build partnerships across Citi businesses. Strong risk, process and project management skills with proven ability to influence and drive results across a diverse team of stakeholders. Participates in the application of operational risk policies, technology and tools, and governance processes to create lasting solutions for minimizing losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks. Contributes to risk assessments and drives actions to address the root causes that persistently lead to operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices. Provides governance and oversight may include (not limited to) technology operational risk, risk for example. Identifies system or process weaknesses, proposing resolutions that will mitigate the exposure and increase processing efficiency. Integrates other control functions to ensure all risks are fully scrutinized. Identifies risks that cross the businesses and organizing cross-functional solutions. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firms reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency. Independently posts/balances books of account, such as cashbook, general journal, sales book, purchase register and general and subsidiary ledgers for an operations unit. Uses discretion to make recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets and expenditures. Independently researches and interprets factual information. Applies good knowledge of industry practices and standards. Exchanges information in a concise and logical way and is sensitive to audience diversity.Qualifications: Experience working in cross-cultural global teams is an advantage.
