Daily management of feedlot operation----- Feeding- routine daily feeding, supplements, rations----- Health-routine herd health procedures such as vaccinations, determining, fly control, and proper identification. Identify/diagnose health programs and administer proper care or work with veterinarian.Data collection and accurate record-keeping: weights, measurements, health recordsFeedlot facility upkeep: pressure washing, manure removal, mowing, maintains fencing and paneling, general farm maintenance tasks to ensure a presentable cattle operationAssist with sales and customer interaction: prepare cattle for sale, assist with delivery of cattle to feedlot, assist transportation of cattle for sale, maintain positive relationships with feedlot customers and buyersAssist with the production of hay and row crop operationSupport the overall farms mission of continually improving the cattle feedlot operation with highest-quality health, feed, operational and marketing managementMaintain a quality reputation of Jason Scott FarmsQualifications:BS degree in Animal Science (or related field) is preferred, however, a high school diploma with combined 3-5 years of cattle operation and/or management considered.Basic cattle management skills such as nutrition, heard health and performance evaluationValid drivers license and CDL strongly preferredMust be able to lift and carry 50 pounds regularlyGood communications skills- verbally, written and digitallyBasic equipment skills, such as tractors, skid loaders, ATVsAvailability to work necessary off-hours, evenings or weekends as needed for the highest care and management of the cattle operation
