We ensure our platform operates safely, reliably and adapts based on customer demand. We establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators, make configuration changes safely and oversee and operate over 300k+ servers in Akamais global network.Partner with the bestAs a Platform Reliability Engineer, youll ensure the safety and stability of Akamais evolving global distributed platform. Collaborating with multiple teams across the business youll act as the vanguard for incident management, network wide rollouts and proactive measures. Involved in a wide variety of operational tasks youll also work at a more holistic level.As a Reliability Engineer Senior, you will be responsible for:
• Conducting, collaborating and running software rollouts that span massive, multi-service and complex networks while handling escalations from Akamais Network Operations Command Center
• Providing operational management and support for our global production network
• Leading platform improvements and increasing the key operational efficiencies of reliability and performance
• Creating safety standards and analyzing behaviors through market trends, implementing code, and utilizing automation
• Collaborating with Performance Engineering teams on building reliable KPIs that provide proper monitoring for platform performance across products and services
Do what you loveTo be successful in this role you will:
• Have 5 years of experience and a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Possess solid experience in operations or system administration
• Have a thorough understanding of Unix/Linux systems, distributed systems and Internet principles
• Demonstrate experience with internet protocols, (DNS, HTTP, SSL) and scripting languages,(Python, Perl, shell)
• Show excellent communication, presentation and written skills to effectively work in a multi-team environment
