Job Description

Its innovative culture is driven by the passion of its 4240- strong team of scientists who work with clients from around the world to solve their scientific problems, improve R&D productivity, speed up time to market and lower the cost of innovation.Job Purpose (1-2 Lines): The candidate should be able to lead cardiovascular-focused in vitro biology efforts, have skills to establish niche and specialized assays using cardiomyocytes.Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling of cardiomyocytes (primary or ipsc-derived or established cardiomyocyte cell lines, mixed co-culture systems)
  • Assay development on cardiomyocytes focusing on calcium, contractility and force-velocity measurements
  • Electrophysiology - patch clamp, field potential measurements using MEA
  • Ideation of novel drug targets in heat failure therapeutic area, ex vivo/in vitro validation of novel targets
  • Lead/ support drug discovery programs
  • Presentation and communication of data to relevant teams
  • Following Syngene s data quality, integrity and EHSS guidelines
Educational Qualification: Fresh PhD OR Masters in pharmacology/ life sciences/ biotechnologyTechnical/functional Skills:
  • Isolation of cardiomyocytes from rodents/rabbits, handling cardiomyocytes (primary/ ipsc-derived/ established cardiomyocyte cell lines)
  • Cardiomyocyte assay development contractility measurements, force-velocity measurements, work loops in isolated cells
  • Co-culture systems using cardiomyocytes/macrophages/fibroblasts, 3D-cell culture
  • Basic animal handling experience/ electrophysiology - added advantage
