Job Description

As an SDET Engineer 2 at Comcast, you will be responsible for validating product quality through the analysis and testing of the code base. Your focus will be on writing code that can be executed in an automated and repeatable fashion, reducing manual testing efforts and enhancing code quality and consistency. You will develop and maintain code to validate front-end, middleware, and database systems using the latest tools and programming languages. Collaborating with software engineers, you will write efficient automation code following coding standards and best practices. Additionally, you will work with the engineering team to deliver automated tests that meet product automation requirements, execute automated code, and create written summary test reports for the team. In this role, you will repair intermediate complexity broken automation scripts with moderate guidance in your area of knowledge.**Key Responsibilities:**- **Test Planning and Execution:** - Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for Salesforce applications. - Conduct manual testing to ensure functionality, reliability, and performance.- **Automation Testing:** - Create and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium with Java. - Implement and maintain automated tests using the Cucumber framework for behavior-driven development (BDD). - Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.- **Defect Management:** - Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking systems. - Collaborate with developers to ensure timely resolution of defects.- **Regression Testing:** - Perform regression testing to ensure that changes do not negatively impact existing functionality.- **Test Environment Management:** - Set up and maintain test environments for manual and automated testing.- **Basic Salesforce Knowledge:** - Utilize basic Salesforce knowledge to understand the platform and its capabilities. - Test Salesforce-specific functionalities, including custom objects, fields, and workflows.- **Collaboration and Communication:** - Work closely with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and provide feedback on testing progress. - Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.- **Documentation and Reporting:** - Write clear and comprehensive test cases, test scripts, and defect reports. - Provide detailed reports on testing activities and outcomes.**Qualifications:**- Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.- Experience in QA engineering, focusing on both manual and automation testing.- Basic understanding of Salesforce, including custom objects, fields, and workflows.- Proven experience with Selenium and Java for automation testing.- Experience with the Cucumber framework for BDD.- Familiarity with GitLab for CI/CD pipeline integration.- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.At Comcast, we value teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.
