Job Title:Senior AssociateDate:Department:MTS Cash ServicesLocation:ChennaiBusiness Line / Function:BSOReports to:(Direct)ManagerGrade: (if applicable)-(Functional)Number of Direct Reports:-Directorship / Registration:-Position PurposeA Senior Associate in the Cash department performs a pivot and critical task of processing and having full control on the daily BAU as per the Standing operating procedure for the particular process / team.ResponsibilitiesShould ensure that the set SLA s are met within the agreed timelines.Should ensure that Cross Training and Knowledge transfer between the team and processes is happening on a periodical basis.Analyze previous Incidents in the team and understand the pattern, root cause to apply any additional controls wherever necessaryPerform a Supervisory check for all critical activities as identified in the processHandle escalations/ critical tasks/ new process by providing effective resolutionShould ensure that Team meeting /Brain Storming Sessions are conducted if required and also share the best practices and ideas with the peer groups and team membersPlan and chart out the IDP for the team members for attaining the desired objective in alignment with team goalShould perform a review of the checklist to ensure all the tasks have been performedAble to clearly understand and envisage the Swift messages (MT103,MT202,MT210,MT304,MT300,MT299,MT199 etc)Should pitch into the process as and when required and incase of absenteeismPlan and effectively manage leave schedules for the teamPlan and effectively manage the staffing and backup plansTo interact with the clients / internal teams for any new Business requirements, changes in the business that could impact the processKnowledge and skills requiredThorough understanding of all Capital market, Financial Instruments, Investment baking processes and above average accounting skills Good verbal and written communication.Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, service commitment, solid organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, prioritizes multiple tasks and meets strict deadlines Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and strong MS Excel skills required. Good knowledge in Financial/Securities markets.Good knowledge on FX related activitiesGood knowledge and hands on experience about Swift messages such as MT103, MT202, MT210, MT304, MT300Good communication skillsOverall awareness of using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.Should possess good people management and team handling skillsPrior industry experience of about 6 to 10 years is preferred.
