Job Title: Senior Consultant- Veeva DevOpsLocation: Chennai, IndiaGCL: D2Role Overview:AstraZeneca is looking for DevOps Lead with Trial Management, eTMF, Study Start Up and/or Investigator Site File experience to join the Platform team and implement, configure and maintain the Vault Clinical Vault suite of applications. Favorable candidates for this position will have IT experience, are technology-forward thinking, have implemented or use cloud-based software using Agile DevOps preferably but not required, in the Clinical Operations and Site Solutions space, and / or have spent time at a Sponsor, CRO, or Site working on clinical trials Management System or eTMF System.This role will be part of DevOps designed Platform team responsible to manage and maintain the Veeva Clinical Vault (VCV) as a Core Platform within Perform Clinical Business Capability supporting mission critical function running Clinical Trials run both internally and across external partners.As part of the Core Platform Scrum team one will be responsible to work cross functionally with other team members and platform stakeholders such as Product Manager, Product Owner, Platform Lead, Release Manager, Scrum Lead, Veeva Vendor to prioritize the Backlog and delivery it as per Release Roadmap.This role requires to adopt best release engineering and deployment practices with Veeva Vault Suite of Applications (i.e.: CTMS, SSU, eTMF) and other AZ configured Integration Platforms such as MuleSoft, SnapLogic and GlobalScape to enable, automate and streamline end to end business processes, workflows configured within the Platform.This role will contribute to roadmaps, technology standards, technical design and delivery against the platform and associated resource capacity, and communication to leadership and stakeholders. You will be the expert in how this technology / platform is implemented and consumed in the business. In close collaboration with the architecture and capability teams you ensure that the solutions are up to date.This Senior Platform Engineer role will be part of DevOps Platform team for across the globe, based out of one of key location. One will be contributing to monthly releases, Impact Analysis, Environment readiness and providing multiple resolution to a problem associated with Information Management.As part of this role one will be working with Release manager/Deployment lead to optimize the release approach to ensure alignment to Platform governance, set and lead the Release Schedule, and coordinate backlog management. Dependency, Risks between Upstream/Downstream Systems. Mitigate technical risks and issues that affect agreed release scope, schedule, and qualityKey Responsibilities:.

• Serve as an internal Veeva Vault expert for IT and business partners across regions and business areas focusing both on functional configuration and integration landscape.
• Socialize new or unused Veeva platform features with business and identify exploitation opportunities within internal platform team.
• Lead the technical area to explore opportunities to streamline the release and deployment both for functional and integration build using CI/CD framework.
• Actively promote new platform features and drive adoption of new Agile ways of working.
• Run assessments / POCs against Veeva general releases and new enhancement requirements.
• Generate platform exploitation ideas and create business case for new features.
• Lead business requirement gathering and design activities with business & IT stakeholders as part of scrum team.
• Lead delivery activities through Design / Build / Test / Deploy phases for regular releases and key Veeva platform initiatives.
• Provide technical oversight on configuration, customization, UX Configuration for Veeva releases and projects.
• Provide technical expertise on integration technologies to release and project scrum teams working on the development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of Integration designs and solutions.
• Generate and implement ideas to simplify / streamline our integration landscape in alignment with integration design and patterns.
• Mentor and coach the AZ Application Development team based in Chennai to increase throughput and quality.
• Work with IT Quality and Testing to test validate the user stories and to summarized the test report prior to release.
• Responsible to ensure that technical specification and design documents are updated as changes are configured within the Platform.
• Responsible to maintain the configuration and mapping specification documentation both for functional and integration configuration.
• Manage/Update JIRA Board during the lifecycle of an implementation focusing on requirements gathering, configuration, validation/testing, training, and go-live activities during releases.
• Work with Integration Platform team to configure CI/CD pipelines to edit/update/maintain integration interface set-up in sync across different environments in landscape.
• Work with Veeva technical team on requirements, issues related to Veeva API, Security Set-up and Functional Configuration.
• Responsible to maintain the GxP qualified status on the Platform in adherence to Quality Change Management and Configuration Plan.
• Coordinate weekly calls in coordination with release management to plan and prepare all production facing releases.
• Troubleshoot critical production issues affecting end-users, including system unavailability and data integrity issues.
• Provide coordinated support for getting new releases and configuration changes into production.
• Be a client facing representative of the Development and Product teams.
• Document new processes and keep existing documentation and tools up to date as the environment changes.
• Lead gap analyses, workshop preparation and delivery, requirements gathering, configuration, validation, and customer training.
• Responsible for Release Engineering activities related to environment sync, integration pipes management in respective integration components adopting CI/CD approaches
• Worked with testing workstream within the team to adopt end to end testing automation for regression and smoke testing.

Essential Skills/Experience (Relevant):

• 5 years of experience either developing, maintaining or supporting Clinical trial Management System or Documentum based applications.
• 5 years solid understanding and practical experience of software development life cycles using JIRA based Agile Workflow.
• Knowledge of SQL to write queries to help understand the integration requirements to be enabled via API led integrations within Platform.
• Knowledge of Clinical Trial processes across pharmaceuticals, device and/or biotech sectors, specifically as they relate to document and data collection.
• Ability and willingness to roll up your sleeves to design and implement a Clinical Solution.
• Proven ability to manage diverse stakeholders and ensure delivery to a high degree of satisfaction.
• Proven ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
• The confidence, communication and interpersonal skills to lead customers, from technical personnel to senior stakeholders, in urgent or critical situations.
• Experience in cloud / hosted software environment.
• Experience working with development or in a DevOps role.
• Knowledge of Identity management solution based on OKTA, Oauth, Ping Federate/AD technologies.
• Experience in development of Interfaces/Integration between on-premise and Salesforce/Veeva platform using API s, Web Services (MuleSoft) and ETL (SnapLogic)
• Expert in scripting and data formats (batch, Perl, HTML, XML, JSON or similar languages).
• Proficient in developing/programming (Java, C, or similar languages).
• Proficient with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, or similar tools).
• Proficient with software configuration management tools (GIT, SVN or similar tools).
• Proficient with creating CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or similar DevOps tools).
• Experience using/creating build tools (maven, ant, gradle, Sonar or similar tools).
• Experience with Cloud Platforms such as AWS, AZURE.
• Experience working with JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Automated Testing tools.
• Experience of working in agile teams using methodologies such as SCRUM and SAFe.
• Overall 7-9 years of experience
