• Routing studies and preparing sketches for Drafting
• 3D modelling (piping, equipment and supports)
• Plot Plan / Equipment Layout Prepare / check
• Piping GA s Prepare / check
• Isometrics Prepare / check
• MTO preparation and checking
• Preparation and checking of Support sketches
• Guiding a team of Designers and Draughtsmen and responsible for quality of work
• Checking of drawings/ documents with QA standards & procedures
• Checking of documents from other disciplines / regions / vendors
• Extraction of drawings from Revit / Autodesk Plant 3D
• Coordinate with Discipline Engineers / designers / draughtsmen Both in Chennai and in regions.
• Coordination with other Disciplines / Regional team members
• Ensures efficient utilization of software in the team
• Any other activities assigned by Lead or HOD
• Act as focal for discipline specific projects / tasks / support
• Participate in various meetings with client, understand the requirements clearly, communicate well, plan and deliver

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 16 years of experience in total out of which 12 years in experience in Energy and Water projects district heating & cooling, water, waste water, upstream/downstream oil & gas, chemical, process plants, etc. and include both Greenfield and Brownfield.
• Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in Revit and Autodesk Plant 3D modelling.
• Experience in Concept, FEED and Detail Engineering.
• Is theoretically sound and also has a good practical understanding.
• Well familiar with International codes and standards
• Should be well versed with drawings and documents like P&ID, Instrument Hook-up s, civil/structural drawings, Piping Material class specification, pipe classes and piping components used in above Industries, etc.
• Expert level in piping routing, layout and support concepts.
• Expert level in Revit / Autodesk Plant 3D modelling who can be relied on all aspects of modelling related to equipment, piping, supports, ducts, extraction of drawings and reports, clash resolution, library / catalog creation, hierarchies, settings, etc.
• Hands on knowledge of 3D Model review software like Navis.
• Have knowledge of 2D tools like ACAD and Micro-station.
• Experience in vendor drawing review, IDC of other discipline drawings & documents.
• Knowledge of other 3D Model software like S3D, PDMS and E3D will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge / Experience in structural and E&I modelling will be an added advantage.
• Good English Skills, both written and oral.

Important Relations.

• Lead Engineer / Sr.Engineer / Engineer and / or HOD.
• Other departments for inputs, outputs, IDC, schedule, estimation, etc.
• Client / Regional Stake holders.
• Team Members in case of clarifications / doubts.

• Timely delivery of projects with right quality (of him and probably his team), within budget and schedule.
• Minimize client complaints.
• Coordinate within team and other departments and projects to minimize quality errors claims.
• Support HOD and Lead to develop team with competency in Revit / Autodesk Plant 3D.
• Continuously improve methods and lessons learnt to optimize client value.
• Compliance with Ramboll Values.
