Job Title: Senior Engineer - Network Services Location: TRIL GTC ChennaiGCL: D2Connectivity Senior Network EngineerSenior Network Engineer (Band D) for a world-leading Pharmaceutical company which operates in over 100 countries and is headquartered in the United Kingdom. The candidate is expected to work for a large Network support and maintenance function, spanning several continentsThe candidate should possess broad functional knowledge in his/her domain and technical knowledge in relevant Network Operations. The candidate should have proven expertise in working within a team for transition support and maintenance initiatives.The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for leading the Troubleshooting, Development and Implementation of network primarily on Cisco Technologies with additional Load balancer, Wireless services. This person will be in charge of managing all aspects of the network environmentJob Description Typical AccountabilitiesResponsibilities include : Primary responsibility will be working on proactive-reactive Incident/SR/changes/SIP related to Network and Network security technologies (Switching/Routing/Firewall/LB/Cloud)Need to be SME for handling any P1/P2 incidents, critical changes.Documenting knowledge articles for critical incident/changeWill be accountable for meeting the delivery targets set by managementResponsible for ensuring that delivery is within and better than prescribed SLA levels and help establish processes for continuous service improvement.Resolve incidents/problems/Changes according to established proceduresWork proactively to ensure prompt resolution of support cases & the highest possible levels of customer satisfaction along with minimal production impactManage 24x7 monitoring of Network availability, performance and initial triage of related incidents.Gather metrics via monitoring, identify trends, and provide reports indicating levels of process complianceCapture events through monitoring tools and processes; coordinate event response across all network Technology solutions and environments. Ensure proper issue escalation and effective incident resolution.Work on Service improvement activities and completing it within the target dates.Providing automation solution to benefit network operations team.Create policies and procedures related to the Networking environmentEducation, Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceEssentialA minimum of a Bachelors Degree is required, MS or MBA preferred.7 to 10 years experience performing various tasks in Network Operations, TroubleshootingAt least 5 years experience of working in the Global NOC environment.Skills PrimaryStrong Knowledge on Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, Zone-based Firewall, Firepower, Cisco ISEKnowledge in Switching technologies - Cisco 6500/6900, Nexus 7K, 5K, 2K,VPC, FEX, VDC, Cisco VSSStrong knowledge in Routing technologies: Handling Cisco ISR/ASR routers, Protocols include BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VRF, L3 VPN s, IPsec, VPN, QoS, Intelligent WANWireless: Cisco WLC, Cisco Prime, Ruckus Secondary/Good to haveLoad Balancer: Knowledge on Netscaler, F5 administration, Amazon ALB work experienceProxy: Knowledge on proxy PAC file changes, building/setting up private proxy nodes. Zscaler knowledge is preferable.Scripting: Basic understanding of one of the scripting language Phython, pearl, shell scripting. Any projects done on this scripting language will be an added advantageKnowledge or work experience in Cisco ACI, Cisco Software-Defined Access (SDA) environment are added advantageKnowledge and Experience working within a Service Oriented Architecture.Ability to document and maintain Network support documentation (e.g., processes procedures, workflows, communication/training material, service catalogue, etc.)Ability to lead the development of new processes and procedures within Networking with stakeholders from across IT groups and business units.Strong relationship management experienceReady to work in 24/7/365 environment with rotational shifts(APAC, EMEA, US)Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and excellent presentation skills. Well versed in English.DesirableGood knowledge of Release Management, Incident Management and Problem Management processes.Experience working in a globally distributed teamExperience in handling the critical incidents, providing solution amidst pressure situation.Knowledge in ticketing system like Remedy, SNOWCCNP(R/S or Security) certification required.
