Job Description

  • Knowledge and understanding of Gasoline Ignition & Diesel Combustion systems and performance.
  • Work with customers to understand their Valve timing strategy and in turn select the appropriate products from the book shelf
  • Creation or review of product performance specifications or targets.
  • Design of product to meet specification and packaging constraints.
  • Proof of concept evaluation and technical assessment of design refinements with the analytical calculation, stack ups,
  • Recommend application specific design changes that meet customer s technical requirements.
  • Lead or support DFMEA and DVP&R reviews with customers .
  • Support analysis of prototype parts for functional performance and/or failure modes as well as parts diagnostics on customer vehicles/engines.
  • Lead or support all technical meetings with customers / suppliers and with appropriate cross functional team
  • Knowledge & use of problem solving techniques for failure investigation and root cause analysis 8D, FTA, Six sigma etc
  • Release design for various program phases in conformance with product design guidelines and Product Development Processes
  • Identify new concepts that address weaknesses within our current product portfolio or technology roadmap.
  • Plant product support for improved quality, manufacturing efficiency or design cost reductions.
  • Should be able to work and co-ordinate for a project with multinational working group.
  • GD&T, tolerance stacks, and general mechanical drawing standards(required).
  • Excellent problem solving skills like 8D, FTA, DOE (required).
  • Experience in design, development and release of new products.
  • Familiarity with statistical methods for data analysis.
  • Experience and knowledge in the TS-16949 quality systems.
  • Computer Skills in Microsoft Office products.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of various simulation/FEA tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, & negotiation skills
