Job Description

Senior Financial Analyst Job summary The Red Hat Corporate Finance team is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst with a motivated approach with the willingness to learn and understand business and financial dynamics from a high level to join us in Raleigh, NC or Remotely. In this role, you should have the ability to analyze the details to provide solutions and improve processes. This is a great opportunity for you to make a positive impact on the direction of Red Hat s forecasting and analysis. Primary job responsibilities

  • Analyze performance using financial and operational KPIs, including accounting rate of return (ARR), margins, delivery capacity, and conversion rates
  • Develop understanding of Red Hat s global business model and the role that the Corporate Finance team plays in enabling its success
  • Ensure IBM systems accurately reflect Red Hat while working with IBM and Red Hat accounting and finance teams
  • Collaborate with the synergy team to develop new offerings and model financial impact
  • Support IBM incentives team to incorporate Red Hat s results into IBM seller measurements
  • Provide ad hoc support to questions from IBM global markets and brand finance around Red Hat forecast and results
  • Assist in monthly financial and operational reporting with commentary for Executive, Finance, and Global Management teams, including analysis of global performance
Required skills
  • 2+ years of related professional experience
  • Bachelor s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
  • Expertise in spreadsheet-based financial forecasting, e.g., sensitivity analysis, cash flow forecasting, and models using Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated customer service, interpersonal, and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Critical thinker willing to go above and beyond to provide business insights
  • Entrepreneurial attitude and problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to handle ambiguity at times and add structure where necessary
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Experience with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
The following are considered a plus:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification or solid understanding of accounting principles
  • 1+ year of experience working in a software company
  • Experience forecasting billings and cash flow in a subscription-based model
  • Intermediate level capability with tools and systems like Oracle, Hyperion, OneStream, Salesforce.com (SFDC), Tableau, etc.
  • Experience working with a global team; solid networking skills
