We engage primarily with Original Equipment Manufacturers. Hence, this candidate will need to work very closely with Electrical Design Engineers, Quality Engineers in the OEM Organization to gather all technical information and be able to generate a technical spec for the Telematics Hardware.
The Candidate should be able to perform inspections on Assetsindependently to conclude the location for Telematics Device installation, the parameters to be tapped, the Harness Design, Harness Routing, Connectors to be used which is required for the end to end Telematics implementation.The candidate would be involved in conducting in-depth Bench Testing, Factory Validations, Field Validations and be an active member to push the project to production.The candidate shall document Machine Inspection Reports, draft technical hardware/ Firmware requirements and communicate the same to the Hardware/Firmware and Backend Software Development Team.
The candidate would need to support any Proof of Concept, PilotPrograms and Evaluation types for OEMs.Primary ResponsibilitiesWorking with the OEM Electrical Design Team in performing machine inspections and analyse the type of equipment, the type of parameter that can be tapped / captured from the equipment.Defining Telematics Hardware installation standards, Installation Location, Harness Routing based on the Equipment Type.
Validate behaviour of hardware installations; that it provides the expected quality and function to the OEM EquipmentDocumenting Inspection Reports and submitting it to Firmware Development Team for Firmware DevelopmentWorking with Gateway team to support data reception from the device to the Telematics GatewayPerforming Bench Testing of Parameters and raising bugs in firmware that need to be fixed.Performing Factory Validations; Demonstrating a working prototype to the OEM Design team.Supporting OEM QA Validations and making sure that all Tests are passedSupporting Field Trials and making sure that the requirements are met. Writing status reports and escalate issues as appropriate Proactively solve hardware and configuration related problems and suggest improvements Identify project risks and recommend actions to minimize risk Offering Technical Support to the Customer Care team as well as Sales Team when requested. Experience in coding or scripting hardware device behaviour is a big plusGenerate technical documentation and reports suitable for customer presentation on subjects related to product specifications, failure analysis, bench marking studies and results, diagnostics results and computer design related issuesEducation / ExperienceBachelor Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering with minimum 5-7 years of specific experience in Telematics Device Domain.
Comfortable and able to be in a customer facing roleIn-depth experience with vehicle based electronics, must be comfortable disassembling a dash, trace cabling and able to read a vehicle schematicIn-depth experience (2-3 years) with CAN technologies as it relates to light duty and heavy duty vehiclesIn-depth experience (2-3 years) with Digital Tachograph technologies 2 yearsexperience cellular and/or GPS related technologiesStrong Communication and Coordination skillsAbility to work independently with minimal support.Ability to work with the contacts in the OEM Electricals Team, OEM Dealers and Customer Equipment Maintenance TeamStrong Analytical and Problem solving skills required.Strong command over English language. Both verbal and written communication skills required.Demonstrated organizational skills, high stress levels; leadership abilities, ability to handle multiple priorities.Ability to meet defined timelines.Willing to travel for up to 75%.Strong knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office tools.
