Job Description

Come and Join us at Vestas!Engineering & Business Service Center > Engineering > Manufacturing Test Engineering Department in EBSC, Chennai is an Engineering Hub for Assembly, Generator, Towers and Converters & Controls manufacturing value chain. We impose innovative & creative solutions and improve continuous improvement culture to make Vestas vision come true. Our expertise is in Engineering data analysis, Technical documentation, Product/ process quality control, Business process, Tooling design and layouts, Operational support, Technical support, Test Solutions, Enterprise Asset Management offers ample support to Vestas global strategies through process optimization, production support, test validation and cost control. This role is part of Manufacturing Test department. Mfg. Test is globally responsible for developing Test systems and solutions for Vestas manufacturing sites. We develop and manufacture high-end test equipment to test Vestas products. For example, Control panels, Converter systems, Generators, Nacelle & Hub Assembly, Power Train, Blades, Hydraulic systems, etc. We work closely together with our internal customers and Vestas Technology R&D.Responsibilities
    • To design, construct the power and control panels of the Automated Test equipment and support and supervise of Installation, Testing and commissioning
    • To prepare a detailed electrical schematics representing PLC, IO cards, HMI, ethernet switches, Switchgears, terminal blocks and release them for the manufacturing
    • To develop the sensor - actuator layout, cable schedule, network architecture, single line diagram
    • To create the GA drawing for the control panel and Floor layout drawing for the test equipment / test area
    • To evaluate the hazards, perform risk analysis and provide mitigation solutions
    • Expected to apply the IEC/CE standards during the control panel design and review the existing design in conformance to the applicable codes and engineering standards
    • To strive for continuous improvement and improve the efficiency through sustainable measures
    • To generate the BOM (Bill of materials) and technical purchase specifications (Electrical, Hydraulics and Pneumatics)
    • Technical discussion with supplier on BOM and share it with the purchase team for PO
    • To coordinate with the vendors and support them to build the control panels as per the requirements and quality standards
    • To Create and assemble the Electrical Documentation Binders, Operator training, Standard operating procedures, Installation instructions, O&M documents and user manuals
    • To update the As built drawings, To collaborate cross- functionally, Review the changes and update the drawings
    Qualifications
    • Bachelors in Engineering or Masters in Engineering - EEE / E&I with 5 - 8 Years of Industrial experience
    • Minimum 5 years of working experience in the control panel design
    • Hands on experience in any of the following drafting tools like, SEE Electrical (Preferred)/ Eplan / Autocad Electrical
    • Certification courses on control panel design is an added advantage
    • CMSE (Certified Machine Safety Expert) certification will be an added advantage
    Competencies
    • Knowledge in IEC 61439, IEC 60204 and IEC 61400-1
    • Knowledge in industrial electrical systems like, Switch gears, Motor controls (VFD, Soft starters), Transformers, Motors, PLC Control Systems
    • Familiarity in the industrial communication protocols (Ethernet IP, Ethernet TCP/IP, Profibus, ProfiNet, Modbus-RTU, Modbus TCP/IP, RS-485, etc.)
    • Good knowledge and working experience in the process instrumentations
    • Knowledge on enterprise asset management systems, logistics and invoicing procedures
    • Knowledge on Document Management System (SAP DMS), Enterprise resource planning (ERP), Change Management systems.
    • Experience in preparing machine manuals, user manuals and Technical writing
    • Self-motivated individual who can build the team and himself toward growth
    • Willing to provide End-to-End comprehensive solutions for the engineering problems
    • Good written and verbal communication in English
