This in turn helps us to provide better support to our broad client base.Purpose:The bank is looking to recruit a Senior Java Developer to join the Development team within Product Engineering department.This position involves the design, implementation and maintenance of software solutions for the various project streams within the department.The systems involved include vendor products (SunGard Adaptiv Credit Risk, Adaptiv Analytics and Murex), risk factor simulation systems and associated interface and reporting applications.Key Responsibilities:On a day to day basis provide support to the Project Managers within the various programmes.Roles and Responsibilities:Design, Development and Testing of in-house solutions.Assist Business Analysts and Software Architects with converting business requirements into system solutions.Assist System Testing and User Acceptance Testing.Provide 3rd-level support.Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department and projects.Play an active role in defining and improving the project and the application.Provide project managers weekly status updates and assist in daily project monitoring to ensure deliverables match the schedule.Prerequisites:This is a hands-on role requiring an experienced developer to engage in a fast moving and large scale credit risk solution development programme.Qualifications:A Bachelor s degree in a numerate subject (e.g. science or engineering degree).A motivated self starter with ability to multitask but requires minimal supervision to meet challenging targets.Able to operate both independently and as a team player with collaborative attitude.Strong analytical skills.Maintain high productivity in a fast-paced environment showing effective prioritization skills.Excellent English written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Domain Experience:Proven exposure over a number of years of large project/programme involvement in financial markets.Development Experience:10+ years of working experience within technology environment.Excellent Java and experience in developing scalable, multi-threaded applicationsGood understanding of OO design principles and patterns.Experience with Spring, Hibernate, and Messaging middlewareExperience with XML technologies (XML, XSLT, Web Services and JAXB)UNIX and Windows development experience.Able to communicate designs using UML.Knowledge of full implementation life cycles.Understanding of web application developmentUnderstanding of SQL queries and database objects.Desired Skills:Understanding of current technologies employed by Tier 1 Investment Banking InstitutionsThe candidate should have knowledge of counterparty credit risk exposure measurement (e.g. PFE) and credit risk monitoring processes, although there is scope for developing domain knowledge on the job.Understanding of .NET framework and C#Experiences with Agile methodologies and Test-driven developmentGood understanding of a range of financial derivatives, particularly IR, FX and commodities.Appreciation of credit risk end-to-end exposure measurement/management processes and operating model.Experience of working on Monte Carlo simulation software applications.Apply now to join the Bank for those with big career ambitions.To view information on our benefits including our flexible working please visit our career pages .,
