The team supports using big datatools and industry best practices, the generation of insights, on the Bank s performance to drive strategic decisionmaking and support the communication of the Bank s performance to external stakeholders.The role suits an individual able to conceptualise, problem solve and think laterally to manage dynamic and uniqueissues. Creativity and the ability to communicate clearly are essential skills for the role.Roles and Responsibilities:Lead in the full development life cycle, end-to-end, from design, implementation and testing, todocumentation, delivery, support, and maintenance.Analyse source data systems and drive best practices in source teamsImplement data ingestion routines both real time and batch using best practices in data modelling, ETL/ELTprocessesGather business and functional requirements and translate these requirements into robust, scalable andoperable solutions that work well within the overall data architectureEvaluate and make decisions around dataset implementations designed and proposed by peer dataengineers. Evaluate and make decisions around the use of new or existing software products and tools.Building large database models for Balance Sheet, PNL, Cost analytics and related ratiosUsing Dataiku ETL tool to develop real time and batch data processes feeding into in-Memory datainfrastructure using Apache ArrowTo design data reflection optimization using partitions, sorting and virtualized views accelerate query timesby reducing query planning and reading times within Dremio data infrastructureUsing query job analytics to analyze BI query plans to optimise query times down to 1 sec irrespective of thesize of the underlying data setMentor junior data engineersQualifications & Skills:Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the design, creation, management, and business use ofextremely large datasets.Extensive experience in the full data project life cycles around large-scale, high-volume and high performance data structures for analytics and deep learningExcellent business and communication skills to be able to work with business owners to develop and definekey business questions and to build data sets that answer those questions.Strong academic record at bachelor or master s degree level in business, economics, finance from a well recognized institutionIndustry experience as a Data Engineer or related specialty (e.g., Software Engineer, Business IntelligenceEngineer, Data Scientist) with a track record of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from largedatasets.Advanced knowledge of data cleaning, validation, and related toolsAdvanced Python scripting and data wrangling development skillsStrong computing system skills (POSIX, CLI, basic shell scripting, version control systems, etc.)Experience in signal processing and other related applied engineering fields a plusExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable working with colleagues from different timezones and cultures.Apply now to join the Bank for those with big career ambitions.To view information on our benefits including our flexible working please visit our career pages .,
