Job Description

Come and Join us at Vestas!Regional Procurement ASP -> Purchasing Direct -> Purchasing India ASP Regional Procurement Organization (RPO) is responsible for handling ASP (India, Greater Asia, Australia & NewZealand) Vestas spend with external suppliers. With a matrix organization, with global and regional roles, the RPO ensures the deployment of common strategy and processes with same overall goals across all Vestas regions. We support our Service business and Production Facilities deliver projects safely, on time, in budget, with the right quality by propelling supplier selection for critical indirect spend categories.Responsibilities

  • The incumbent will be acting as a service Purchaser and will act as the focal point in ASP region for Electrical Spares (BoP) & Maintenance Category
  • Take responsibility for handling one of our strategic commodities in the region: Maintenance services for Wind Turbines and BoP Spare parts availability
  • Develop suppliers for long term supply of BoP Spares (switchgear, power protection systems, the electric meter, transformer parts etc) with the localization mindset, working together with Service team
  • Develop fruitful relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders: Service Managers, Site Team, Safety experts, Global commodity managers etc
  • Develop relationships with our key suppliers and ensure they support us in achieving our strategic goals
  • Identify and supervise Purchasing projects in the region, on different indirect commodities (materials and services): Supporting definition of requirements / Sourcing / RFQ / Selection / Contracting
  • Identify and implement on opportunities to improve our Safety and Quality performance, reduce the TCO, streamline processes
  • Promote continuous improvement (work together with Business for Supplier performance improvement, periodical market analysis for cost benchmark to stay competitive etc)
Qualifications
  • Innovative and Experienced procurement professional with a proven previous experience in India / Asian / Global market
  • Academic degree in engineering
  • Minimum 10 years work experience in positions requiring effective stakeholder management and commercial skills (such as Sales, Project Management, Account Management) out of which last 5 years completely in purchasing
  • Prior experience in the wind industry, especially dealing with Wind Turbine Maintenance and BoP Spare Parts sourcing
Competencies
  • Diplomatic stakeholder management with good communication skills
  • Having a can do approach and positive attitude towards the issues you will face
  • Structured person with pragmatic approach and negotiation skills
  • Understanding about Supplier Relationship Management
  • Cross cultural skills (will work as part of an international team)
  • Ability to prioritize in a time-sensitive situation
Additional Information The work location is Chennai, India The role will involve 20% based on need travel You will report to the Head of ASP Indirect & Service Procurement, the full team is working cross-functionally and is responsible for handling all Procurement activities related to Service business.
