In this role, the Sr. SDM will work hands-on with engineering, leadership and Product Management teams to deliver results while fostering inputs and participation from all levels of the organization.As the engineering team leader, you ll work closely with local engineering staff and a team of experts to design and execute your team s feature roadmap. You will have direct input into requirement definition, and will work closely with our customers, developers and product managers to define, develop and deliver new products and features. The ideal candidate is equally obsessed with delivering the best possible customer experiences and leading and building strong teams. They define software architecture, communicating effectively with engineers, partners, leaders and a broad set of stakeholders. This leader can think long-term, advocate for strong engineering excellence, and bring in their own software development best practices as well as follow best practices from the broader development community in Amazon.The ideal candidate has a passion for TV and video entertainment with an established track record delivering break-out consumer software experiences., 10+ years of relevant engineering experience 5+ years of experience, managing engineers and managers Experience in partnering with product and program management teamsBS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.Knowledge of a broad set of disparate technologies, ranging from device software, front-end user interfaces through back-end systems and all points in betweenExperience building distributed systemsExperience with Android app developmentExperience with low level software stack2+ years of experience managing managers You are extremely technical and have significant experience developing experiences on consumer electronic devices, with a penchant for building elegant and maintainable systems that get the job done with minimal complexity.You have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a highly iterative, agile, and open team environment.You build the right product for your customers and pride yourself on delivering products on-time against deadlines.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Deep hands-on technical expertise.Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.A deep understanding of cross-functional multiple-team based software development.A strong business and technical vision and the ability to translate these in business and technical approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions
