The Amazon Kindle team is seeking an innovative, results-oriented Senior Technical Program Manager in our Kindle Store Team. In this position you will provide both strategic and tactical oversight to drive the platforms and features required to have a best in class offering for Kindle customers.The eBook industry is in its early stages and is evolving rapidly . We are looking for passionate individuals to join us in consistently improving our customer experience towards our goal of Every book, ever printed, in any language, all available in less than 60 seconds. The Kindle Store team builds and operates the Kindle books shopping experience across platforms around the world. This includes the end to end customer experience on the Website, all e-ink and Kindle Fire devices and all other tablet and mobile devices. Our charter is to build a store that makes it easy for customers to find content that is relevant to them.As the Senior Technical Program Manager supporting the Purchase and Payments Experience teams within Kindle Store, you will help define and execute a roadmap that enables Amazons Digital businesses to build new features faster on a wider range of devices. You will partner with our clients and the engineering team to breakdown large complex Kindle wide initiatives into platform deliverables. You drive these initiatives from concept to launched product. You strive to deliver the right product for our customers and meet high standards of quality, performance and reliability.If you are comfortable digging into business requirements, drilling into design, architecture, and test plans with development and QA teams, and communicating with stakeholders at all levels, and if you have a passion for bringing the best Kindle shopping experience to our customers, then this is the position for you.This role requires working closely with product management, and involves regular communication with senior management, and will be inherently cross-functional. Excellent listening skills, writing skills, and very strong drive to deliver results are essential. Must be a relationship-builder, decisive, and comfortable using data to influence and get the job done.Key Responsibilities: Help define strategy and roadmap for the Kindle Store experience on the web, Amazons Kindle devices and third-party devices Document and present strategies to senior management Manage execution against project plans and delivery commitments Work closely with product managers, partners teams and engineers to architect and develop the best technical design and approachTo learn more about the Kindle team at Amazon, visit www.amazon.com/careers/kindle and apply now., Minimum 10 years of software development life cycle management experience working in a cross-functional environment with an ability to influence other teams to meet goals Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audience Bachelors Degree required Must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills Must have a desire to create and own new processes and continuous improvement Experience managing cross-functional teams to deliver projects on tight deadlines Experience in project management in a larger ongoing program A track record of project delivery for cross-functional projects Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations Ability to take a project(s) from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project(s) Strong written and verbal communication skills preferred
