Job Description

  • Responsible of Handle the implementation, testing, and documentation of new and updated Cognos reporting packages to be moved into production environment per request by project.
  • Cognos Installation and configuration.
  • Cognos Version Migration/Upgrade.
  • Implement patches and other day-to-day Cognos administration tasks including creating folders/ reports/ users and migrating reports/folders/users from Dev to QA to Production.
  • Support all Cognos configuration requirements for new clients and client database migrations including working with DBAs to set up and test new Oracle data sources used by Cognos, creating new Cognos security roles, and setting up new user security and reporting interfaces for users.
  • Assist internal and external clients with demos and problem reports.
  • Contribute to the coordination and planning of Cognos/ Database/ Infrastructure -related activities/ outages.
  • Support developers by troubleshooting reporting issues related to Cognos configurations and/or SQL.
Required Professional and Technical Expertise
  • Minimum 5+ years experience industry experience in which minimum 3 years of experience should be as a subject matter expert.
  • Experience in Framework models and packages using IBM Cognos 10.X including DMR Models Reports using Report Studio, Query Studio and Event Studio, Dashboards and apply data visualization best practices
  • Experience on Cognos Workspace and Active reports, Cognos transformer and Cognos Dynamic Cubes.
  • Strong experience with SQL
  • Good Understanding of the Cognos Architecture and underlying reporting studios
  • Knowledge of core Business Intelligence (BI)/data warehousing technology
  • Business Intelligence development experience and programming experience
Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise
  • Certifications: Relevant Certifications of Cognos.
  • Unix/Shell Scripting will be a plus.
  • Ability to ensure that all the data pertaining to the company and its clients is safeguarded against unauthorized or illegal use by implementing various methodologies against those who violate the security rules and regulations
  • Proficient to maintain the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of the information and to maintain its authenticity, control and utility of the relevant data
  • Experience in supporting all the necessary procedures related to security approval, accreditation, certification, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge to implement a realistic approach during the certification schedule and process
  • Hands-on experience to ensure compliance with vulnerability and mitigation procedures and to establish and install security fixes at regular intervals
  • Languages: English, Hindi.
