The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual with strong awareness of the payments industry trends, card and bank processing, payments security and payment transaction models. Business acumen, hands-on technology skills, positive work ethic and a collaborative mind set are key to the success of this role.Key Responsibilities:

  • As a software engineer should put customer first as part of day-day work.
  • Ensure that the design and implementation adheres to defined specs and processes.
  • Collaboratively work with cross-functional teams across the globe.
  • Own end-to-end quality of deliverables during all phases of the software development lifecycle.
  • Understand technical designs by working within PayPal s cross-functional technology team.
  • Collaborate between business, product and technology in the process of understanding the requirement and coming up with implementation options
  • Understand the payments business and how technology decisions impact the business. Sense evolving business trends and translate them into needs into technology solves.

  • Experience in refactoring existing code base and in understanding existing implementations to decide to refactor or rewrite.
  • Ability to hit the ground running from day 1 working on various systems and working independently.
Technical Hands-on Skills
  • Strong programming skills, understanding of object oriented paradigm and expertise in one of C++/Java
  • Experience working with databases such as MySQL/ Oracle etc.
  • Exposure to debugging a high volume large scale transaction processing system.
  • Thorough understanding of unit testing frameworks and continuous integration process.
Educational Qualifications
  • BSCS or equivalent + 6 years of experience / MSCS + 4 years of experience in software development
