Software Engineer - OpenShift Virtualization (KubeVirt Project)Posting Location : Location ES-RemotePosting date 22 hours ago(2/10/2022 7:18 AM)Job ID 92791 Workday ID R-121401 About the job The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to join the KubeVirt project in Spain. In this role, you will design and implement virtualization solutions for containers and virtual machines, contributing to industry-leading technologies like Kubernetes , OpenShift Virtualization , libvirt, and QEMU. As a part of a geographically distributed team, you will collaborate with multiple Red Hat s engineering teams and open source communities around the globe. As a Software Engineer, you should be motivated, curious, and passionate for problem-solving, Linux technologies, and open source. What you will do
• Play an active role in container and virtualization-related projects and communities like KubeVirt, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, libvirt, and QEMU
• Submit patches for bug fixes to the community and review patches from other members
• Help analyze and continuously improve build systems and test automation
• Work with the Quality Engineering (QE) team to ensure that features are tested correctly
• Combine already existing technologies with KubeVirt
• Participate in new feature development; contribute to open source projects in Golang and Python
What you will bring
• Experience with software development using one or more programming languages, especially Golang; analytical and programming skills
• Linux command line experience
• Motivated and willing to learn new technologies
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English
The following are considered a plus:
• Experience with the usage of Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift or virtualization technologies like QEMU, KVM, VMware, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, etc.
• Understanding of and ability to work according to continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) principles
• Familiarity with virtualization, clusters, and container-related technologies
• Open source development experience
• Experience with Windows automation, Windows Cluster, or MS-SQL
• Knowledge of automation practices and principles
