Software Engineer - VirtulizationPosting Location : Location CZ-RemotePosting date 13 hours ago(10/1/2021 9:41 AM)Job ID 89738 Workday ID R-015360 Job summary The Red Hat Linux Engineering Virtualization team is looking for a Software Engineer to join our team that develops and maintains components of the KVM stack. In this role, youll be part of the team responsible for the design and implementation of features related to the integration of virtualization and Containers. You will be part of a larger group which cross-collaborates to implement, maintain, and deliver, in partnership with open source communities, the virtualization features which power Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization , OpenShift sandboxed containers , Red Hat Virtualization , Red Hat OpenStack Platform , and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) . You ll need to be passionate and collaborative. You will have opportunities to learn new technologies and will receive mentoring from experienced engineers and managers to develop their careers.The work location for this position is flexible, with Europe being the preferred region due to timezone constraints. Red Hat has offices in many cities and welcomes applications from home-based, remote candidates, as long as they reside in a country where Red Hat is registered to do business. Primary job responsibilities

  • Work as part of a distributed team with several remote team members
  • Design, implement new features and fix bugs in open source projects like QEMU, libvirt, Kata containers
  • Review patches and provide feedback to community-oriented enhancements and bug fixes
  • Contribute automated tests to continuous integration (CI) systems
Required skills
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes or OpenShift for deploying containerized workloads
  • Experience designing software and resolving bugs in Go, C, or Python
  • Good written and verbal English language skills
The following will be considered a plus:
  • Familiarity with packaging for Fedora or CentOS Streams, especially Go
  • Interest or experience in modern programming languages like Rust
  • Good understanding of operating systems and computer architecture
  • Understanding of open source development processes or active open source contributions
  • Experience with system-level technologies in Linux, virtualization, and containers
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent
