Job Description

As a Manual Test engineer , you will work in a support team that certifies the quality of the product in a collaborative environment employing manual testing strategies. As an individual contributor under a moderate supervision, you will participate in the entire life cycle of quality assurance, and contribute to build quality product offerings. In conjunction with development engineers, you will design and implement strategies and tools for efficient and comprehensive automated testing wherever applicable.You will also be executing moderately complex tests according to established plans and scripts, documents problems in an issue log, and retests software corrections to ensure problems are resolved. Creates test data files with valid and invalid records to thoroughly test program logic and verify system flow. Drafts and revises moderately complex test plans and scripts. Identifies, recommends and implements changes to enhance the effectiveness of quality assurance strategies. Assists in planning and scheduling testing.Responsibilities:

  • Analyze Business and Technical Requirements:
  • Assess compatibility of requirements with company quality standards
  • Help ensure the consistency, completeness, accuracy and test-ability of product requirements
  • Develop detailed acceptance requirements for use cases (user stories)
  • Test planning & Design, Test Execution and Reporting:
  • Understand the system design in order to contribute to the development of the project and ensure the quality of the result
  • Design, develop, organize, and maintain functional and non-functional test cases
  • Identify potential risks and seek testing approaches to manage that risk
  • Develop, implement and maintain automated test scripts
  • Execute test cases for Functional, Regression and Integration
  • Analyze defects with the goal of being isolated and reproducible, and clearly document issues and bugs
  • Work towards debugging and fixing defects, retesting and resolving open issues
  • Work closely with developers, leads to understand underlying architecture and code in order to develop test strategies across different layers of the application
  • Understand test suite needs, task out work, and provide feedback on design solutions
  • Develop tool-sets, frameworks for test automation wherever applicable
  • Effectively communicate with project leaders and Management regarding the scope and limits of testing and analysis efforts
  • Communicate and report out the testing efforts and technical aspects of projects
Qualifications & Education:
  • Bachelors degree in computer Engineering/science or similar field, or equivalent industry experience required.
Required Experience & Skills:
  • 3 years of experience in manual testing
  • Basic knowledge of automation tools such as selenium, cucumber
  • Basic skills in Java, Groovy and SQL will be a plus
  • Zeal to learn new technologies
  • Strong team player with good communication skills
  • Proven problem solving, troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, and the capacity to think creatively under pressure
