Job Description

    Sr. Manager - Accounts and FinanceDate: 16 Apr 2024Location:Chennai-Chengal, Chennai-Chengal, INCompany: Mahindra World City Developers Ltd.Job PurposeThis role incumbent will aim to ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations, minimize tax exposure, and optimize tax processes to support the financial objectives of the organization. By providing strategic guidance, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and leveraging expertise in indirect taxation, the position incumbent will play a crucial role in driving efficiency, accuracy, and integrity in tax practices within MLDL.Principal Accountabilities1.Strategic Tax Planning: Develop and implement strategic tax planning initiatives to optimize indirect tax processes, minimize tax liabilities, and maximize tax savings opportunities specific to the real estate industry.2.Tax Compliance Management: Oversee and ensure timely and accurate filing of all indirect tax returns, including GST/VAT, sales tax, property. tax, and other applicable taxes related to real estate transactions and operations.3.Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of changes in indirect tax laws, regulations, and rulings impacting the real estate industry. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and effectively manage any tax audits or inquiries from tax authorities.4.Transaction Support: Provide tax advice and support for real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and development projects. Conduct tax due diligence and assess tax implications to mitigate risks and optimize deal structures.5.Tax Reporting and Analysis: Coordinate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate and comprehensive reporting of indirect taxes. Conduct thorough analysis of tax data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization.6.Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including finance, legal, property management, and development teams, to align tax strategies with business objectives and support decision-making processes.7.Leadership and Team Development: Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the indirect tax team. Foster a culture of continuous learning, development, and excellence to support professional growth within the team.Performance Measure of SuccessKey RelationshipsFunctional CompetenciesFinance Concepts,Qualification and ExperienceCA/ CMA- 8 years post qualification experience in managing indirect Taxation.
