Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual testing, software quality assurance, and implement test automation
  • Heavy backend/big data testing using SQL, pgSQL, NoSQL languages
  • Writing automated test scripts using Java and/or Python. Mainly Python.
  • Perform both blackbox and whitebox testing
  • Creation of Automation frameworks and implement continues integration tools.
  • Create infrastructure to execute automation scripts on a scheduled basis
  • Perform heavy data validations on datalakes / data warehouses and ETL processes testing
  • Perform load testing utilizing JMeter scripts
  • Collaborate with Engineering Team to document practices and standards for QA.
  • Work with onsite team closely on daily basis.
  • Utilize hosted load testing services such as BlazeMeter and FloodIO to distributing the load geographically
  • Report QA activities and project status to Engineering, QA/Product Management on daily basis
  • Write test plans, test cases, status reports and summary reports
  • Participate in daily scrum and bi-weekly sprint grooming/planning meetings
  • Perform cross OS/browser and multi-device testing
  • As a part of Security, Availability and Confidentiality Requirements, you will responsible for protecting the credentials and client data

Required Skills and Experience

Must Have:

  • BE/B. Tech/ME/M. Tech, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8+ years of professional experience in backend QA Automation Engineering
  • 3+ years of extensive experience in SQL scripting at professional level, coding experience in Python and creation of automation frameworks.
  • 5+ years of experience building automation frameworks from scratch (Java, and/or Python required) and with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, TestNG
  • Experience with data validation automation and ETL processes testing
  • Experience with databases such as MYSQL, Postgres, Cassandra, MongoDB, Hive etc.
  • Experience of implementing continuous integration of automation scripts with build scripts (Jenkins is preferred)
  • Experience with REST web services testing tools such as SOAPUI,
  • Postman and automation of APIs
  • Great communication and people skills with an experience of onsite/offshore model
  • Experience working in an onsite/offshore model

Good to have skills:

  • Experience with source code management systems such as Github, Bitbucket etc.
  • Experience with Hadoop, Cassandra, Kafka, Spark and other big data technologies is a plus
  • Experience with load testing tools and suites such as JMeter, BlazeMeter or any open source tools.
  • Experience with AWS and any cloud based platforms is a huge plus. AWS services experience is preferable.
  • Experience with Web and Mobile debugger tools
  • Experience / exposure to cloud data warehouse platforms like Snowflake is a plus.
