Do it here.What you ll be doing.The Enterprise Architecture group is seeking a Senior Manager to play a critical, client-facing role that interacts with technology teams across the organization with the goal of facilitating the implementation of world class enterprise scale information technology architecture in service of Verizon customers. You will manage a team of enterprise architects and will facilitate collaboration sessions and ensure consistency and alignment across teams from both a technical and process alignment perspective. You will be responsible for working on efforts linked to the Platform Architecture Cloud and Technology (PACT) initiatives related to Enterprise Architecture.This is a technical position that will require the architect to review, assess, recommend, provide guidance and expert advice in the areas of vendor selection and evaluation, technology architectures, frameworks, methodologies, patterns and best practices. You will work closely with internal stakeholders from a strategic perspective to identify and exploit opportunities to improve business processes, promote the strategic use of emerging technologies and assess competing products or vendors that can address enterprise level use cases.You will partner with technology and business leaders from multiple organizations in defining strategic technology investments in vendor or open source products to help define the next gen enterprise architecture. You will be highly versatile and possess the ability to communicate at the right level of detail and with a clear message when interacting with any level of stakeholder. You must be ready to network and collaborate with technical and business leaders of multiple organizations, develop viewpoints on industry and technology trends, publish viewpoints for industry consumption, and speak in reputed industry and partner forums.
• Managing the Consumer architecture team and making the technology selection, assessment, technical evaluation of architecture alternatives and recommending solutions that are simple, scalable and sustainable and above all secure.
• Defining reference architecture building blocks using Enterprise architecture framework, Business/Application/Technology architecture, industry trends.
• Providing subject matter expertise in implementation of reference architecture.
• Researching technology trends and products and recommend solutions to run application workloads with futuristic Architecture.
• Leading, guiding, mentoring the Consumer enterprise architecture team, ability to resolve conflict and possess persuasive qualities to drive architectural solutions for large/small business problems (Technology decisions, Vendor evaluation and selection, Reference Architecture Design).
• Demonstrating leadership when managing projects and seek opportunities to positively impact key business priorities, should be able to prioritize the work based on the customer needs and business priorities.
• Nurturing an architecture talent pool by engaging with talent programs (like VLDP etc.)
• Driving critical architectural discussions/solutions with senior executives including SVP, CIO, VP, Directors.
• Collaborating with architects across the enterprise to identify strategic opportunities and in the rationalization of cross segment dependencies.
Where youll be working:In this hybrid role, youll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.What we re looking for.Youll need to have:
• Bachelor s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in Telecom Industry Enterprise Architecture.
• Experience in architecting systems around big vendors like Adobe, PEGA and Salesforce.
• Experience in managing teams.
• Enterprise Technology architecture and with deeper expertise in one or more of the domains from Experience, API, Data, AIML and Cloud. Has performed as a senior Architect or architecture lead.
• Experience in vendor selection and evaluation; experience with creation of reference architecture design.
Even better if you have:
• Bachelors degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• Communication (verbal and writing), influencing and negotiation skills with C-level gravitas.
• Experience in guidance implementations of reference design.
• Knowledge of various frameworks for the channels of engagement.
• Strong demonstrable management experience with leading software developers/architects, systems or process analysts.
• Experience in evaluating emerging technologies.
• Knowledge of Verizon technology ecosystem.
• Knowledge of IT Finance & Budget Allocations.
• Knowledge of SAFe agile framework.
• Experience in articulating the business drives and architectural approach/trade-offs during discussions for solution buy-in at various levels and gain consensus.
• Ability to break down complex topics into simple to digest information and data points, adjusted to audiences at various levels.
• Ability to create system and process flow diagrams, data flow diagrams, sequence and UML diagrams, inter and intra system dependencies within the functional domain and across them.
• Ability to broker solutions for issues between functional domains, senior leaders.
• Outstanding Communication Skills and ability to manage frequent communication with Senior Leadership.
