The Infrastructure as a Service team provides private and public cloud infrastructure - compute (VMs, CPUs, GPUs and Bare metals), storage (CEPH), SDN and container platform. The Developer Environment DE team provides world class CI/CD pipelines, workflow automation, repositories and OneOps deployment tool providing ultimate DevOps power to developers for continuous delivery. The application foundation team provides multi-tenant managed services for authz, messaging (JMS, Kafka), caching, externalized gateways, cloud configuration, massive centralized log search farm, telemetry, Cassandra/Oracle/MySql/MS-QL/Cloud RDBMS for the developer community of Walmart.Your OpportunityThe Containers platform team at WalmartLabs is creating the Next Generation Microservices Platform based on Kubernetes. Using the latest technologies and operating at a massive scale, this is a challenging and exciting opportunity to make an impact in the largest company in the world.We are looking for passionate and talented Senior Software Engineers for the WCNP IDC team driving key development initiatives inside our Product Development team for our Walmart Cloud Native (WCNP) platform.A key focus area would be to drive development of our modern CI/CD system (KITT) that uses GITOps principles. Our team also works on creating Kubernetes controllers, operators & tools/plugins in GoLang.We use Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform as our cloud platformWe are also running Kubernetes on physical hardware in Walmart stores and distribution centersWe embrace Continuous Delivery; our services usually get deployed in hundredsOur Ideal CandidateYou have a deep interest and passion for technology. You will also have to provide technical leadership and mentoring to a small team of highly talented and motivated engineers to deliver these solutions with highest quality.Your ResponsibilityOwn & drive development of key features in Java for the optimization of our modern CI/CD system used within our cloud native ecosystemCollaborate effectively with global team members in delivering key product featuresBe comfortable working in a true Product team environment focusing on development and providing production on-call support coverageTake opportunities to evangelize the platform across IDC customer base and understand customer needs to make the platform more developer friendlyDevelop knowledge of the entire Walmart Cloud Native Platform eco system working closely with cross functional partnersBe self-driven, self-motivated, comfortable with aggressive deadlinesProvide guidance to other members of the team new to development as neededImprove and optimize software development processes and continuing to identify opportunities for increasing efficiency.Qualifications - Overall IT Industry Experience 12 plus years; Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or Equivalent- Strong Software Engineering Principles & Overall Development Experience- Strong Experience in Core Java Development (8 plus years)- Experience in Agile Development (7 plus years)- Experience working with digital transformation efforts scaling the platform for large organizations- Learnability & Self Motivated- Strong influencing, communication & collaboration skills- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple time zones- Experience in Golang (Preferred)- Experience with Kubernetes (Preferred)- Experience in Helm Chart development (Preferred)- Experience in CI/CD (GitOps Principles) (Preferred)- Experience with Public Cloud Offerings - Microsoft Azure/Google Cloud Platform (Preferred),
