Job Description

    Location:Bangalore and Chennai. Experience: 1 to 5 Years. Shift: [US Shift - Rotational] Salary: [As per Industry Standards]Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surgery Coder to join our medical coding team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of surgical procedures, CPT and ICD-10-CM coding guidelines, and the ability to accurately interpret medical documentation. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate reimbursement and compliance with all coding regulations and standards.Key Responsibilities:
    • Review and analyze operative reports and clinical documentation to assign accurate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes.
    • Ensure coding accuracy for various types of surgeries (e.g., general surgery, orthopedics, cardiology, neurosurgery, etc.).
    • Maintain compliance with official coding guidelines and payer requirements.
    • Work with surgeons, physicians, and clinical teams to clarify documentation and coding-related queries.
    • Identify and resolve coding discrepancies and denials.
    • Maintain coding productivity and quality standards as defined by the organization.
    • Stay updated on changes in surgical coding guidelines and regulations.
    Required Skills & Qualifications:
    • 1 years of experience in surgery coding.
    • Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding systems.
    • Familiarity with NCCI edits and modifier usage.
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting operative notes and surgical documentation.
    • Strong analytical and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
    • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification (CCS, COC) preferred.
    Preferred Certifications:
    • CPC (Certified Professional Coder).
    • COC (Certified Outpatient Coder).
    • CCS (Certified Coding Specialist).
